I would also add that game prices have really seemed to escalate over the last 3 years. When 3E first came out everything was around $20.00. To me, it is easier to learn and convert from 1 game system than to waste time learning a dozen or more different systems. Not all gamers want to learn 50 game systems in their life time. I know I don't. :)

I think many of us have just reached a point where elves and dwarves, fighters and wizards, have grown hum-drum. We're looking for something new and fresh to lead us in a new fantasy direction. I have a feeling that AU is going to be that product for a lot of us. I am even looking forward to it...

It's a sad thing to think that a book which went to the printers at the end of May will not see the light of day until possibly the first of August. How will we ever contain ourselves until then? :)

Hero Games' other release for that month will be Fantasy Hero, so I doubt it will say anything about red skies. :)

Sounds great! I'm really looking forward to seeing this adventure. It'll be nice to get conversion rules between the two systems to make using both company's products that much easier. It can't get here soon enough to make me happy!

It is not the Speed Chart which slows down HERO System combat. All the adding of dice slows down the combats. 5 heroes, 25 attacks per turn, 12d6 per attack. That is a LOT of adding, and all that adding takes time. Then on the other side you have a GM rolling for 5 villains, 25 attacks per turn...

Why August? Instead of having the book come out in August, why not shoot for Gen Con in July? It would make a great debut book for Gen Con. Then gamers can be standing in line to get your new book instead of one produced by WotC. You would make lots of extra money that way too. :)
