I love the warlock with access to at will, short rest and daily abilities it is a great concept and with the different patrons and pact boons there is a lot of potential character types (me personally I'd love to make an effective fiend/blade pact warlock based on an old character from 2e)

I can not recommend highly enough the starter boxed set. The adventure is one of the best introductory adventures I've seen (and I've seen them since the early 80's) and can easily lead into Storm Kings thunder or Princes of the Apocalypse. You can also sprinkle in the Yawning portal adventures...

Here is an idea for the wizards that I'd like to throw out. Instead of actual wizards the WoHS are warlocks with the tome or maybe chain and the "patrons" instead of being fiend, fey, or goo are the three moons.

A couple of solutions come to mind to solve this "problem". 1 allow hex to be used at the begining of the day without a target and transferred to targets as needed throughout the day 2 make hex a class ability for Warlock as it was in 4.0 I'd probably go with choice 2 in a game I ran.

The hopping prophet comes from the World of Greyhawk and if I'm not mistaken there were some adventures that featured his followers. May have only been in dragon magazine and i think there was a short adventure card in one of the WoG boxed sets.

The post credit wrap up with the players is a brilliant idea imo. However I would think that would keep you from using established characters.

Which highlites a difference between 3e and 4e - you might be able to get to similar places but it takes a lot more fiddliness and is a huge pain in the rear (to me at least)

None of the folks in my group are willing to try it again after seeing how bad it was.

A) If I'm looking for realism I'm not looking to dnd as it is inherently unrealistic. B) Rule of cool usually outweighs petty and poorly done physics simulations. C) Complicated is not inherently better. D) I see nothing wrong with trading some damage for some effects as you do in 4e. E)...

There is actually a map I've seen that extends the WoG map to the west. Among the other areas are a Dragon Empire (not sure the exact name). It was originally supposed to be a far eastern type area but if you want I see no reason to not make it Dragonborn IF you insist on including them...
