    At-Will damage scaling too slow?

    d4s are particularly prone to natural rolling (unconsciously rolling dice in such a way as to get desired results), because they have sharp corners, big angles, and they don't roll far. Particularly if you get into a rhythm with them, you can basically wind up picking the dice up and throwing...

    At-Will damage scaling too slow?

    2d6 brutal 1 is effectively the same as 2d5+2, so the average is 8.

    Alchemy and Healing Potions

    Presumably large-scale organisations can make potions for less, either by growing their own herbs, or simply by producing them on a huge scale for less money. The price is the price for an adventurer to make one, rather than for a professional to make one, so I wouldn't worry about profit margins...

    Dragon magic question

    Well, good - it saves wear and tear on the PHB. Face-shaped dents kind of mess up the nice front cover :p

    Dragon magic question

    If you took the level 2 utility feat quick fingers, you could put down a dung beetle in an adjacent square as a free action before you do the attack - he'd be nice and easy to hit, and your power would trigger off! Mind you, then your DM would beat you to death with the PHB, so it might not be...

    D&D 4E Is there any D&D 4th computer game?

    No, the fact that the game had turns is what made it turn-based. Characters had initiative. You choose the action they take that round, and they take it on their initiative, each round. That is turn-based. Aside from the movement, which was only real-time to stop everything looking overly...

    D&D 4E Is there any D&D 4th computer game?

    But Warblades and Swordmages aren't included in NWN, and Wizards, Clerics and druids only worked because the game was pausable - for exactly the reason that there's too much clicking and busywork involved in casting spells from a big list. In order to make the game work, they had to strip out a...

    D&D 4E Is there any D&D 4th computer game?

    3rd had lots of rules, certainly, but it didn't have the fine table control that 4th does, and it certainly didn't have as many interrupts or reactions as 4th does - and those are the ones that will be difficult. In fact, aside from the ridiculous spell lists (which most CRPGs trimmed down...

    D&D 4E Is there any D&D 4th computer game?

    I've been watching this thread for a while, so I should probably chime in with my thoughts. Firstly, they certainly could make a realtime game based on D&D 4th, but in order to do so, they'd basically have to throw all the rules out and start again. Realtime has different basic mechanics to...

    Monster Knowledge Check, Monster Roles? Minion or not?

    Minions aren't really supposed to be challenging - they're basically there to get in the way, and to give the controllers something to play with. If you don't want them being cut down like wheat, make them low level brutes instead... Although you're in for a book-keeping nightmare ^^;;

    Weapons as implements

    Couldn't you do that in 3.5? ^^;;

    Weapons as implements

    I'd say you should take Storm, so you can get Fury of the Storm at Epic tier. Then take a bloodiron dagger and watch the sparks fly ^^

    NPC as a character

    As I said, give him a whirl as written. The last thing you want is for the most powerful party member to be controlled by the DM...

    Solo, young black dragon, lurker, and level 1 parties.

    I didn't say all the PCs would. I said you'd have PCs who need a 16 to hit. I've had characters in my party with an attack stat of 16, using a +2 weapon, without weapon expertise. They need a 17 to hit. Putting them against monsters like this just makes builds that aren't horrifically optimised...

    Solo, young black dragon, lurker, and level 1 parties.

    Seriously, Wyrmlings. They're like dragons, but with a lot of the boring bits (ridiculous defences, too many HP for their limited power selection) removed.
