I had the exact same question as this guy and looked for many many minutes. It seems fighters would be the best bet to take out a rogue or ranger class in melee.

Why do these threads come up over and over and over again. There have been countless guys who do archaic weapon recreations who have said time and time again strength is more useful to hit than agility. Stronger man equals faster and more abundant weapon swings equals greater accuracy.

WOTC seem to be making a concerted effort to make high level Fighters more like Gilgimesh and less like Conan. This is a good thing TM.

I dont get where this idea keeps coming from. Wizards will still be summoning up demons and elementals. They will just do it with rituals outside of combat.
I certainly hope these item names are old 3X examples. If any items have +x to hit or to stats the christmas tree of magic items will not be going anywhere.
Easy enough to fix:
If the Wizard has his 'material components' on his person he doesnt have to fiddle with the 15 implements and has the highest bonus they normally grant. Remove his 'material components' and he casts normally.
