    Maps for my campaign setting...

Very cool. If you're gonna swipe a name, that's a great one to swipe. It's located in a nicely isolated area of your continent, too, so it might make a great locale for a necromantic academy or temple -- such a thing with an Amerindian flair a la the Micmacs could be *very* interesting. Love...

    Maps for my campaign setting...

I have to ask...is there an old burying ground with which the characters can effect tainted resurrections tucked away in Little God Swamp?

    My screwed-up relationship :(

I'm just a simple lurker, but I gotta say ... when I first read this thread, after plumbing some of the other toxic relationship threads on this board, I misread this as being posted by Eric Noah. And thinking of him as the author, my first reaction was, "My god, this is a delicious parody." I...

[Updated!]I think my life has decided to fall apart

They sure did, but this was back in 1994, and Mark was not the most computer-savvy person in the world (he refused to buy a sound card as he thought it was a pointless accessory "and they'll never make PC games with decent sound anyway"). Look, no one said these were the brightest people in the...

[Updated!]I think my life has decided to fall apart

I am, as you can see, almost purely a lurker here. So take what I say with that in mind, if you like. But I am speaking from experience. I had a friend once named Mark. Mark was one of the funniest, wittiest, most intelligent and ascerbic people I ever knew. At 18, I surely would have said he...

Are mostly-lurkers welcome at this event? I don't know enough gamers round these parts.

    Beefing up the Sorcerer?

Sorry. :( I'm still not really hip to where different topics are supposed to go.

    Beefing up the Sorcerer?

I know this issue has been debated to the dogs and back, but I thought it might be interesting to collect some ideas in one place. I have noticed IMC (as many of you seem to have noticed) that the Sorcerer, while an intriguing class, really gets nothing interesting at later levels other than...

WotC setting search winner - Eberron

You know, JB, you can whet down any campaign setting to abject silliness when being that reductive. Observe: Dark Sun: "Cannibal halfings and constant dehydration" Ravenloft: "Evil fog and lotsa angst" Al Qadim: "D&D Meets Aladdin!" Personally, I think there's just waaaaay too little...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] What's the deal with Mighty Rage?

You know, as funny as this is, a campaign based around a decaying Roman Empire besieged not by Germanic tribes but by bloodthirsty clans of Orcs and Half-Orcs would be intensely cool. :D

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] What's the deal with Mighty Rage?

Hrm. I s'pose that makes sense, actually. I shouldn't complain, since it frees up an Epic feat slot for those truly dedicated Barbarians...you know, the Rome-sacking Visigoth variety.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] What's the deal with Mighty Rage?

As has been noted before, Barbarians now receive the Mighty Rage ability at 20th level, rather than needing to select it as an Epic feat at level 21+. Yet in the conversion manual, the only alteration to the Mighty Rage feat is it now requires "Rage 5/day." Any thoughts on this?

[3.5] The DMG Makes a Funny

Step 1. Open your 3.5 DMG to the "character quirks" table for NPCs. Step 2. Read Entry #100. Step 3. Do as directed. Step 4. Giggle or do a slow burn, as appropriate.

    [3.5] staves usefull again!

Yes, staves are now the high-level Wizard/Sorcerer toys I've always thought they should be...but there is one puzzling oversight in the new DMG. Specifically, check out the ever-popular Staff of the Magi -- according to its write up, it has set DCs for all its effects. As it's a minor artifact...
