    Treading water in combat

Question: while in combat, is treading water a standard action, move action, or some other type of action? In particular, if a character is in the water and stops swimming to tread water in order to cast a spell with somatic components, can it be cast? Should any checks be made?

PBeM Gamer looking for new game

Boy, since pbem.com died it's been almost impossible to find D&D pbem games around these days... I'm a long-time pbem player, looking for one or two new games to join. A posting pace of two to three turns per week is ideal for me, any more than that gets to be too hard to keep up with given my...

    since PBEM.com doesn't work

There is also a game announcement section at www.pbemnexus.com, but nothing comes close to the listings as pbem.com. I emailed Ed and offered to look into the problem if he did not have time, but never heard anything back. I hope he is okay. I would hate to see pbem.com disappear.

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

On the whole B.U.B.B.A. thing...I did undergrad at the University of North Texas, where the administration only narrowly averted naming the student radion station KUNT after someone finally let them in on the joke.

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

I had my only two cavities drilled and filled without anesthetic or gas of any kind. I think the dentist was a lot more nervous than I was about it, too. :D Fortunately, I have a high tolerance for pain.

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

It was at a wedding in Houston. Fortunately, he was not a president at the time. And no, I'm not female and the quarterback had (still does, afaik) serious issues.

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

Hmmm....I can't think of five at the moment, but here are the top 4: 1. Fell overboard on a Celebrity cruise in the Mediterranean (got another cruise free out of it!) 2. Slapped a living U.S. president 3. Was hit on by a famous professional quarterback...and declined. 4. Own the same set of...

A giant frog ate my halfling.

For me, the user interface worked poorly. The screen would not follow characters as they moved so every time you moved the party to the edge of the screen, you either had to use the mouse to (very slowly) scroll up or hit the home key to re-center. The slow scrolling and screen centering issue...

Anyone know how to contact Mad Kaiser Games?

The title is pretty self-explanatory. :D I can't find a website for them and it seems his account here does not allow emailing. Many thanks!

Hey Auld Gump-- I use a PSC 2210 at work at it can print in greyscale. Look under "Advanced" tab in the printer properties. Per HP though: "NOTE: The image may still print using the color cartridge to achieve some of the shades of gray. The HP all-in-one will use the color cartridge for...

A giant frog ate my halfling.

That's a shame. I've really enjoyed the game once I got it patched and usable. It was very buggy right out of the box. I'm disappointed to hear Atari has such crappy business practices.

A giant frog ate my halfling.

I have the game and love it! Got it new at Half-Price Books for $7. It is a pretty faithful implementation of the 3.5 rules and is generally flexible in game play. Your characters choose their feats and skills and create magic items, weapons, etc. just as the rules proscribe. They are some...

You know, 0one Games has those blue maps which are pdfs that you can turn on/off certain graphic elements (like the grids, etc) by clicking a box in the pdf. Maybe the publisher can consider adding a similar switch to the borders. That way they don't have to re-set a graphic light version.

    Greyhawk question

Does anyone know what book(s) detailed the city of Hookhill in the Gran March? Or a good website with some information on the city? I checked the Gran March page at living-greyhawk and didn't come up with anything nor was there anything specific in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer. Many thanks!

    SVGames disconinuing ESDs!

I imagine so. I used to love the ESDs Wizards sold directly from their website because they were OCR'ed. I could cut and past text into my email games and lift pictures as needed. They were easily searchable by keyword and took up relatively small amounts of disk space. Once SVGames took...

    The death of pbems...

I consider games played via yahoogroups as pbem, not PBP. PBP, in my mind, is something played on a forum like this one here at Enworld. If you know of other advertising sites that are doing well, share them here so the rest of us can check them out!
