    Simple Globe of Invulnerability Questions

Yes. Suppressed. If the character steps out of the globe, its effects resume (unless the duration has already expired). Allies outside the globe are affected as normal. The effects are suppressed on those within the globe. Same as bless. So, yes. Yes. No. Yes. The effects of the various...

    Wizard using a Cleric-type wand?

Market price of a wand of CLW = 750 gp. Market price of 50 potions of CLW = [50 x 50 gp] = 2500 gp. Thus 2x market price of the wand = 1500 gp; 3x market price = 2250 gp. 3x is actually closer to the "potion-price" than 2x is.

    PDFs: Short or Long?

In general, lots of little .PDFs are annoying. HOWEVER, as others have already pointed out, in some situations it can be a real advantage. It just depends on what the product is and how it's going to get used. The best solution is to offer both formats, of course. Choices are good.

    Large Creatures and AoO

    I vigorously agree.

Spell Casting times & Weapon Speeds addition to Initiatives

Dear God, NO! <shudder> I mean...just...NO! Especially weapon speeds. Casting time is merely incompatible with the 3e initiative system, but weapon speeds are (and always were) incredibly stupid.

What is your character's AC at 20th level with no enhancements?

I fail to see how the poll will accomplish its stated goal. But, for the record, my 9th level character's AC without magic items or enhancements is 20 (full plate + heavy shield, 10 Dex).

    Rogue Sneak Attacks

So you only fear very competent players? Seriously, what you are proposing is a textbook example of Lousy DMing. If you pulled a stunt like that with me, you'd be minus a player on the spot.

Multiple opportunities for attacks with Combat Reflexes

That's correct. Moving provokes only one AoO per opponent, no matter how many threatened squares you leave.

AC of your 10th lvl character?

I think the DMG2 puts a typical "tank" at 18 + 1/2 character level (so it'd be 23). For comparison, my current character is a 9th-level tank with AC 26 (sometimes buffed to 29). The rest of the group considers his AC to be quite impressive.

How does Use Magic Device work with scrolls?

Correct. If Gord didn't have at least a 13 Int, he would have to Emulate an Ability Score (Use Magic Device DC 28). This is not a requirement to activate a scroll using UMD. The skill "allows you to use a scroll as if you had a particular spell on your class spell list." (PHB, p.86) The DC...

    Knockback feat

From the Bull Rush rules: "The defender provokes attacks of opportunity if he is moved." Looks like the rogue would get an AoO. Also note the rules for accidentally ending your movement in an illegal space (like, say, one occupied by a rogue): PHB, p.148.

    Spell failure?

Ah. I didn't realize that was what Shilsen was implying when he said the spell "doesn't get cast and nothing is lost." I thought he was referring just to the material components. The clearest answer I know of is on page 171 of the PHB, under "Spell Failure." Based on that, it seems clear to...

    Spell failure?

I don't understand. He doesn't agree with what? Are you differentiating between a spell that "fizzles" and a spell that "fails"? Because to me, those terms are interchangeable. So far, everyone here has said basically the same thing. The only question I see is whether the material component...

    Seeking Practical Advice on...Symbol Spells

Wrong. By the RAW, there is no consequence for failing a Search check (for traps or anything else). And, just for good measure: "Common 'take 20' skills include Escape Artist, Open Lock, and Search." PHB, p.65.

    Creepy Paladin

The rulebooks disagree with you. "Alhandra, a paladin who fights evil without mercy and protects the innocent without hesitation, is lawful good." (PHB, p.105.) I would say yes, a Frailty-style paladin is permissible -- but only because in D&D, "Good and evil are not philosophical...

Treasure Division - Book value or Sale Value?

Okay, let's take a concrete example: a pair of Gloves of Dexterity +2. Market Value: 4,000 gp. Sale Value: 2,000 gp. You're saying that a party member who wants to buy this item from the party pool would pay 75% of market value: that's 3,000 gp. If no party member gets the item, you sell it to...

Treasure Division - Book value or Sale Value?

You're missing the point. It doesn't matter which "particular percentage" we choose, if the item can be bought at any price, it's a commodity. 75% or 75,000% -- it's "worth" whatever the market will pay for it.

Treasure Division - Book value or Sale Value?

So what if I wasn't going to buy the gloves for 4k in town, but I am willing to buy them for 2k? I can just see how this would play out... Blastum the Wizard: Okay, everybody, it's time to divide up the treasure. Let's see...we've got a pair of Gloves of Dexterity +2. We can sell them to...
