Would any of these Star Wars creatures pass as a D&D creature?

If they're wearing futuristic garb it's ok too. What is a stormtrooper but a guy in a uniform suit of heavy armor with some kind of magical wand/staff weapon? :) A jedi could just be a psion or soulknife :)

    Different Types of Magic

Tradition feats are one of my favorite parts of EoMR/EoM:Me, Wickett :p That said, in my own setting that'll never get off the ground, there's three different types of magic. Inspired by the arcane/divine/psionic split in mostlycore, one type of magic uses more "scientific" methods, (well-known...

Would you like Maddman's Forgotten Realms?

I had this idea once, only for Eberron, when I thought about all the spoilerific information that's given in the campaign setting book, such as Kaius being a vampire, the lord of blades leading a warforged army, etc.

Arbitrary thematic restrictions forcing mechanical limitations.

I hate these arbitrary flavor restrictions too! Why doesn't my human ranger get +2 dex, +2 wis, and an encounter power to reroll an attack roll?!

[WFRP 3] Minions/henchmen with "group hit points" announced in new designer diary

I've considered group or encounter hit points before. There's the simple idea of just giving all enemies the same HP pool to draw from and as it decreases kill off some guys, etc. A similiar idea I seem to recall, I'm not sure if it's original or not, was to have damage stack... once enough...

D&D 3E/3.5 No Page 42 in 3.5, so how much damage does Create Water do to a Salt Mephit?

For other rules for things that aren't in the rules, you might want to check out Book of Iron Might or Iron Heroes from Malhovoc Press. Both were written by Mike Mearls, and a lot of the things that made it into 4e and late 3e, such as stuff like page 42, were very clearly influenced by him...

Skill based magic in D20 games.

Elements of Magic: Mythic Earth, by enworld's own RangerWickett is a skill-based magic system for d20 modern. It has, I believe... 8(?) magic skills. Attack, Illusion, Protect, Summon, Transform, etc. Magic with these skills is very free form... For example, an Attack 2 spell could give you a...

Death from above: leaping, jumping, falling into combat

In Iron Heroes, I believe there's a way to make a jump check against an opponent's AC (instead of an attack roll). If you hit, you leap down onto your opponent, and do a normal attack. Then you deal half of your normal fall damage (rounded up?) to the opponent instead of you :D But that's Iron...
