"We are now on our own; in places savaged by the dark that has fallen upon the world."
Benedict remarks quietly as he puts on his helmet.

[sblock=OOC]
Did Benedict manage to get hold of the book during the escape?

Solaris calls the others over to him for a moment, once they get there he points to the footprints he discovered. "These are claw marks on the ground, not made from any man. They were made by creatures of shadow and there were many of them, we need to move quickly and with the foremost caution as to engage this many enemies would be a dangerous proposition" the elven ranger whispers to the group. Once he has completed his talk, Solaris once again takes the lead at the head of the party and prepares to walk to the exit and, hopefully, freedom.

"What choice do we have?"
Benedict growls from beneath his helmet's visor.

"The way back is cut and only one way leads ahead.. and nothing but a burnt and torn book to make sense of it, if we happen to live."
Strange sounds that could be laughter eminate from the steel-shrouded Half-elf.

"Who would have thought that in this forsaken world we'd find ourself again at the mercy of... "

... of...

"... ah whatever. Lets move!"

"Press on my fellows, we shall smite these orcs like the forge hammer smites the crude metal. The only difference is that we will not make nothing useful of them" the wizard say, manifesting a small image of an orc been crush by a giant hammer.

YOu press on forward and slowly walk up the old dusty stairs. As you make it to ground level, you find yourself in an old house, with most of the windows barred shut with wood planks, though many of them been ripped off or broken over the time. You see the light shining through the windows and you head toward the door, noticing that the large bulky chains normally holding it closed has been broken.

You step outside and you find yourself into the desolated street. You remember this place well. It was once a busy road filled with merchants selling their goods, citizens walking by in crowds. But now, its all dust and a long gone memory. The sky is darkened by old fumes and smoke, with some shy sun rays peeking through. The air is hot and dry and the occasional wind burst lift the dusts and sand to your level. Definately a nice day by today's standards

As you remember it, you are in the southern part of the city, not too far from the Old Pelor temple, the core of the city.

Solaris' mood is slightly improved being outside, despite the darkened sky"We don't have much time before they follow us, does anyone know where we can hole up for a little bit until we can take a look at the book?" the elven ranger asks the others as he keeps his eyes out for any threats that might be lying in wait.

"Yes yes! we need an easily defended place to study this tome. To the search my friends, we need a hideout!" shouts the mage, not noticing the volumen of his own voice.
