OOC: May as well play with my new rage, then. It's been a good run, guys. Mewness, if you ever feel like running again, feel free to email me.

Noriaki runs his hand over Arashi Tenken's length, chanting a spell under his breath. The spells takes Arashi Tenken's misguided rage and channels it through Noriaki, and pale white flames seem to flicker over the blade. Abruptly, he whirls upon the fungus god and drives the flaming katana through it's side, leaving a trail of burning plant matter.

Move to B9(C9?)
Standard: Silver Phoenix Rage. Miss, but HEROIC EFFORT! Hit. 19+8=27 fire damage, and ongoing 5 fire damage(save ends) Noriaki enters the Rage of the Silver Phoenix, gaining regen 3.

Takahaan reels from the spores, blood dripping from his nostrils still. He groans in agony, but stays in position. He still keeps his tactical mindset, and lets out a thundering dragon-cry that startles the creature in front of him, allowing Aerys enough time to slip up behind it and close in the gap. He smiles to her through his wounds.

The Fungus God: Round 5

Hú Lí dances away from the cloud of spores, blowing a loud note on her flute. The bushy plant, still under her control, lurches past Castile, who is in mid-whirl and completely misses it with her first swing, then catches it on her next revolution, striking it dead. Hú Lí then plays a sprightly barrage of tones, focusing everyone’s attention on the strange, roiling “god.”

Aerys sputters loudly, finally clearing the spores from her lungs.

The remaining plant-zombie sidles past Takahaan and jabs him painfully with one of its spines. Jade continues to struggle against the bushy plant’s grasp, and manages to avoid its attack once again.

Another puffball explodes as it is struck by Castile. Noriaki avoids the blast, but Castile is unlucky enough to inhale some of the spores and breaks into a fit of coughing.

Flames lick over the surface of the giant, roiling fungal mass. One of the puffballs exhudes a cloud of spores at Kane and Aerys, striking both. Aerys seems ready to collapse. Tiny flaming tendrils and spores scatter away from the main mass of the creature, and the fire dies out.

[sblock=actions]Hú Lí takes 5 damage and moves to A8. Standard: staggering note on yellow shroom hits for 4. Shroom takes 4 and is pushed past Castile, who takes a swipe but misses it. Action Point: stirring shout on fungus “god” hits for 14, halved to 7. Fungus “god” becomes a healing piñata! Any ally who hits it regains 4 hp.

Aerys takes 5 damage and finally makes her save and can regain hit points again. Yay?

Green zombie attacks Taka and hits for 9. It shifts to E5.

Yellow shroom takes max damage from Rain of Steel and dies.

Purple shroom continues to try its subjugating spores on Jade, but misses again.

One minion explodes owing to Rain of Steel, catching Noriaki and Castile in the blast. Castile is hit, Noriaki is missed. Castile takes 5 poison and necrotic and cannot regain hit points (save ends). Fungus god slides 1 square and regains 5 HP.

Fungus god takes 5 fire damage from Noriaki’s rage and 14 from Castile’s rain of steel (not halved, I guess, as it technically isn’t melee. Weird). It attacks through its minion in E8, getting Kane and Aerys in the blast. Both are hit for 11 damage. Fungus god saves against the ongoing damage.

Everyone’s in an aura except Taka and Jade. Aerys will drop at the beginning of her turn unless the situation changes.

Off-turn stuff
Virtue of Cunning: Noriaki was missed and can take a slide 1.

[sblock=Controlling Aerys]Companion NPCs in Combat

Any PC can take a standard, move, or minor action to have an NPC perform an action of the same (or a lesser) type. E.g., if you want Pezock to use Icy Skewer, you spend a standard action. If you want him to move, you spend a move action. An NPC is limited to the usual number of actions each round (but those actions need not all be granted by the same PC). An NPC who has an immediate action can likewise only use it if a PC has an immediate action available to use on his/her behalf.

NPCs can take free actions and opportunity actions normally, without the direction of PCs. They are always considered to have their weapons in hand and don’t need to spend actions unsheathing them.

If all of the PCs act in a given round without giving any actions to a particular NPC, I will have that NPC take one non-offensive action. This will most likely be Second Wind if it is needed and available, and movement or Total Defense if it is not. (It won’t be necessary for PCs to spend their own standard actions to have NPCs use second wind.)[/sblock]

[sblock=PCs’ Off-Turn Actions]Interrupts, Reactions, and so forth are listed here to help me remember them. It would also help me if you specify triggers for these actions. If you don’t, I’ll try to use them in sensible places.

Black Fox
Virtue of Cunning (free action; ally is missed)

Castile
Combat Challenge (interrupt; adjacent marked target shifts or makes an attack that doesn’t include Castile)
Guardian’s Counter (interrupt; ally within 2 is hit by an attack that doesn’t include Castile)
Shield Edge Block (interrupt; adjacent enemy hits or misses Castile with a close or melee attack): used if it will turn a hit into a miss.
Bold Victory Armor (free; Castile or an ally within 5 bloodies an enemy)

Kane
Aegis of Shielding (interrupt; marked enemy hits a target within 10 and the attack doesn’t include Kane)
Channeling Shield (interrupt; an attack hits Kane or an ally within 10): used to prevent a big or bloodying hit.
Dimensional Vortex (interrupt; an enemy within 10 hits an ally with a melee attack): used if Kane can thump a non-minion with it.
White Lotus Riposte (no action; when an enemy Kane hit with an arcane at-will attacks him before EoNT, that enemy takes 4 damage of the same type as the at-will dealt)

Noriaki
Shrug it Off (reaction; Noriaki is subjected to a save ends effect)

Takahaan
Guardian’s Counter (interrupt; ally within 2 is hit by an attack that doesn’t include Takahaan)
Vengeance is Mine (reaction; an enemy hits Takahaan)[/sblock]

Jade struggles to free itself from the maws of the snapping plant creature while Kane moves well out of range of the damaging spores. With several quick movements he conjures a flaming sphere behind the plant god, a tongue of flame reaching out towards it, searing its putrid flesh and channelling Hu Li's healing power back into his body.

He then links his ward to the fungus that is beating Takahaan to death.

Castile continues flailing around in a circle with her axe, but her maneuver continues to hit only air.

[sblock=Castile actions / stats]Start of turn: Take 5 damage from the aura. Castile's at 35/58.

Move: Pass Forward to E9 (movement with no OA from the fungus god). The minion will die at the start of its turn unless something moves it.

Standard: Crushing Surge vs Fungus God misses AC 16. I'll let Kane's mark stand, and Castile gains 4 THP on a miss. (I don't think THP is affected by the no-healing condition? I would have used the same attack or an MBA regardless).

End of turn: Save vs no healing succeeds with a 20.

[sblock=OOC] [MENTION=57009]Dekana[/MENTION] Are you sure you want to take over the mark the Plant God? I have it marked. As long as I do, everytime I prevent damage with my aegis the plant god takes the same amount of fire damage. Daily power in action there.[/sblock]
