As you quickly make your way through the falls you enter a long corridor with touches illuminating it every 20 feet. The sounds you heard are from the numerous bodies from both clans lying on the floor, most dead, and some moaning as one would do close to death. Is apparent to you that the battle of the two clans spilled into the entrance of the hideout. The corridor goes for another 100 feet or so before turning sharply to the right.

You noticed something large move ever so slightly underneath a group of corpses. What every it is is watching you.

Perception (1d20+12=32)

OOC: dimsdale, you ARE aware that the thing needs perception 33 to beat my stealth, right?! And it too was a critical like this perception...I'm afraid of the next combat, there will be 1s galore.

This action assumes he's seen:

Drew draws straight and offers slight bow toward the enemy, provoking it.

He then takes the position of the waiting dragon, one leg over other as if sitting with his legs crossed, hands spread as if lounging on a couch, one leg supporting entire weight of the body, ready to spring.

He calls in draconic without turning his head:
[sblock=Draconic]
"Malifixindalaunt, tell them there was fighting here too, V clan penetrated deeper. And they left an ambush here, I'm waiting on it to spring. Be so kind and hurry them up or we may loose the orb!"

OOC: Ready action Crane's Wings +9 vs. Fortitude
Hit: 1d10+6 damage and the target is pushed 2 squares...since flurry of blows works as interrupt with it's own slide, if the attacker is hit, it slides adjacent to Drew and then is pushed toward the waterfall. Drew stands 1 square from the edge so it would be just enough to drop someone into it :)

Oh, and position is like that crane technique everyone knows from karate kid, except the arms are wider and not so high and his forward leg rests its heel on the knee of the supporting leg

You're right!

Drew notices that the moving object is actually a massive snake slowly slithering through the fallen bodies, testing them with its forked tongue as if it is looking for a live one. The snake doesn't see you, but it can smell you, slowly making it way towards you.

OOC:
Hey everyone. We are at a crossroads here. The objective is close at hand. I want to present two options for you. Please let me know your choice before we proceed further into the adventure.

Option 1:
You continue into the hideout without resistance and complete your quests: Rescue noble Weinfurter and escort him home and retrieve the mysterious orb. One member of the party still needs to receive a treasure item.

Option 2:
Although in the hideout, the quest to finding the Lord Wienfurter and the mysterious orb becomes much more difficult. I was planing on having your party level again before this adventure is wrapped up. One member still needs to receive a treasure item, then all will receive another item as well.

Please let me know what you'd like to do. The one thing I don't want to happen is for the adventure to slow down to a crawl with everyone becoming disinterested in finishing the adventure.

thanks :)

OOC: Since looks like no new adventures are coming for PCs in our level range, I'm all for continuing. If you're worried about people not posting very frequently, having a good tough battle usually makes threads move more vividly

OOC: We did not get any adventure submissions for our level as of late. Just sequels for some adventures (which I assume would use the same party).

Sharpe gets a nifty level 6 encounter utility (surge+surge THP!), so I would not mind leveling to 6 ;)
