[Adventure]: The Mark of Trogdor (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

"You are mistaken, Alpha! These giants are mere inconvenience! We defeated a dragon, a kraken, pack of devils from another worlds. We fought in the Green and prevailed! Your pack stands no chance. Please, please, go away and spare yourselves before those inside turn toward you. See for yourself, ogres are already dead and few heartbeats passed.

If you pass Primera, you declare yourself as the enemy."

Shamaness tries once more to reason with the beast, her eyes rolling back in her head as she struggles to send pictures and smells to limited mind of the wolf. Words without meaning, but images of mighty predators.

Halleck and Quan, being the closest, see Nementah turning toward the entrance, her movements slow and focused, while growling, hissing and ?! gurgling?! can be heard punctuated with single roar in the middle. She stands with her hands spread, head lowered toward the entrance, totem at the ready. Primera prances in front of the pack leader, but holds her attack still.

OOC: I realize this is RP, if you think somehow skill rolls could avoid the encounter, we're not so starved for XP to need cleaning out of the wolves :)

I've been wrestling with this all day. If the encounter would have gone badly for the heroes I would have stopped the attack. However, you guys have downed 3 out of the 4 foes and the one alive is currently burning in the fire. The heroes have not taken a single point of damage! I want my encounters to be a little challenging.

Raijin and others kill the second ogre. The other two foes move foward. Skalisss, Vimak and Rocco carve up the third ogre. In a last ditched effort the ogre swings his massive club at Skalisss. This is exactly what Rocco wanted him to do as he drives his dagger into the foe, collapsing him on the spot. The hill giant is now enraged. Stepping out of the fire, with his cloths and hair still burning, he moves closes to his recently killed henchmen and swings his club in a wide arc. The weapon connects solidly with Rocco, sending him hurling into the air and landing flat on their backs. The club also hits Raijin. But apon being hit, the sorcerer sends a wave of pain into the hill giant, then vanishes into thin air, much to the disappointment of the hill giant.. Meanwhile, the wolves ignore the warnings of Nementah moving closer to there new prey. Nemantah attacks one of the leaders in return. The dire wolf growls menacingly and the pack prepares to charge.

After disappearing before the giant's enormous club, Raijin reappears back further out of the cave. Energy still swirls around him, and an echo of thunder follows. He turns at the warning of the wolves and raises his plain staff. Stay back!

Fire and searing light fall on the uninjured wolves, burning the fur of all but one as they approach. Raijin puts away his lightning staff and holds the simple one in both hands.

OOC: dimsdale, Slaad's Gambit is an Immediate Interrupt so Raijin teleports away before getting hit.

@dimsdale , Rocco moves only 1, not two due to being dwarf, but he still falls down.

Save vs Prone (1d20=5)

OOC: Aggh! I should have known that. I've got a dwarf fighter myself. :)

OOC: @johnmeier1 , thanks for the info. No damage to Raijin. You can fix the map if you haven't already. I'll change the post.

Halleck shouts, "You big oaf! You'll soon be a dead oaf. And then we'll feed your carcass to the wolves, so they'll be too full to move!"

Halleck then stepped south, taking up a defensive position against the impending onslaught of wolves.

[sblock=Note to other Players: Bravura]
Halleck has the Bravura Presence:
When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

Melee characters might also want to save their AP until I hit with Withering Courage, so they can double dip on the +5 damage bonus.

1. Thorkelson, a bald, tattooed man, entered the hangman's tavern and recruits Halleck and Vimak for a job. Thorkelson, needed some protection at the docks, but apparently had some sinister other motive, since he used drinks from the bar to drug Halleck and Vimak.

2. Wake up in the middle of a fight, being helped by strangers. Give the bandits a beating,

3. Get approached by the bandit leaders, who have two girls that look exactly like that one we want. The real girl is revealed, and natural, a fight breaks out. After we smash the goons, their leader, Hank the Tank comes out. And, eventually, Hank gets killed.

4. Get the real mission: deliver Lerrick to brother Buchta, so he can remove the mark of Trogdor from her forehead. The mark is in indicator to all that Lerrick has been chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon Bosch. Your quest as of now is to provide safe passage for Lerrick to brother Buchta so that he can perform the ritual. This includes taking her to the portal, traveling thought it, and then taking her from the portal to brother Buchta's place of residence.
