Gloom looks at the situation. His slow reaction have made Gloom seen like a green up to now, and doesn't accept to get ignored like that. His eyes suddenly turn red, the blood rising to his head. "Max, down!"

Gloom charge and swing his sword. Max barely have the time to lower his head and feels the sword cutting the air a few milimeters over his helm. The sword takes the Knife Figther solidly in the chest. Under the strength, he even lose his balance and fall on his companions a few feet away before getting back on his feet, but not without accidentally slashing him with a knife.

The thug behind the bar doesn't even notice Mab, and she gives him not opportunity to do so before she strikes. Daggers cut deep into brute, forcing him to vault the bar for escape.

Once on the other side, he finds a more visible target and slams his mace into Draglin. Stars erupt in the dragonborn's vision, though he manages to stay on his feet this time.

The man with the wicked-looking pair of daggers answers Gloom's challenge, "You seem a spirited fellow," he taunts as he slashes the paladin, "Meet my gods of steel!"

The young man dances circles around Gloom and strikes him hard from behind. The others laugh and join in, practically ignoring everyone else. Soon the shifter finds himself the victim of a dogpile, being beaten to within a hair's breadth of his life.

The goon with the large sword backs up and bounds over the table landing a viscious blow on Dante, who is distracted by the attack on Gloom behind him. The assasin is quick, however, to recover from the attack, and attempts a counterstrike, but his assailant dodges and hops off the table.

  • This will be treated as difficult terrain, but Creatures that are hit while standing in a square that is more than 1/4 occupied by a piece of furniture are subject to a DC 18 athletics check. Failure means that the creature falls prone in a random square adjacent to the piece of furniture and takes 1d6 points of damage.
  • Dropping (or falling) prone behind furniture gives you total concealment and superior cover against any creature on the opposite side of the furniture. From any angle, it provides normal cover, but no concealment. From the same side, you are simply prone.
  • Chairs and stools can be moved 1 square as a minor action, but tables and benches require a standard action. Moving anything further than one square expends a standard action and a move action. (I'm going to assume that everyone here is strong enough to move a table so no strength check ;)).
  • Chairs, stools, food, plates, cutlery, and mugs can be used as improvised weapons requiring a minor action to pick them up.

My action tomorrow, but I'll put everything before going down... but don't fear, unless they kill me by dealing enough damage to get down to -40, I'll raise up again! If not, well, Gloom will finally follow his clan to the other world.

"That's your best?" tells Gloom with madness in his eyes. "Lauto's want your soul, human!" As he tells that, a dark energy start to surround the Knife Figther and Gloom's Blade. With an inhuman speed, Gloom's blade start to whirl and slash a first time the human for a deep wound. The knife Figther start to be scared and as he is hit again for a second deep wound, he turns around to flee Gloom but not before he get another blow from the whirling blade.

As he flee, Max also get an opportunity to strike the coward.
