[sblock=timing]And it's right about now that Andrec returns, am I right?[/sblock]
Moving quietly (for an armored man untrained in stealth), Andrec turns to corner to find the group waiting near the shrine. Doing a quick head-count, he says "Where's the Elf?"

"You let her go alone? Let us pray to the gods she is not caught. Those we stalk have been taking other victims. Three more children are missing."

"Well, if any of us had gone with her, we would have just given away her location. She seems to have an ability to hide in plain sight, it seems. I'm sure no harm will come of her. However, if we wanted, we could attempt to track her through the streets to catch up with her. Maybe she'll have finished them off before we even reach her." Ceryx says with confidence. "So, does anyone here know how to track? I have a feeling that she's going to be very hard to find, however."

Mikara curses when the beautiful woman's goons begin to surround her.

"So are you fools actually part of Daunton's guard, or are you playing dress up?"

When no answer was forthcoming, the drow stared daggers into one of the men. His heart began to beat rapidly as visions of dark specters flitted in and out of his vision. Clutching his chest, the man staggered a few steps towards Mikara. In a flash, the assassin was on the man, blade flashing in a horizontal strike that took the mans head and his life in one fell swoop.

Seeing one of their own murdered so brutally made the goons hesitate for just a moment, but it was enough for Mikara to act on. The air around her condensed with shadow, a palpable mist of darkness that blurred the assassin's form. Grabbing a handful of the shadowy mist, Mikara flung it forward. In mid air, the dark stuff took the form of a thin spike and pierced the heart of her closest foe. The last thing he felt was the icy grip of death envelope him before he was sent on to the next realm.

Realizing that they would need to do something quickly before they were decimated by the lithe drow, the hoard of goons quickly converged on Mikara, thinking that strength in numbers would win the fight. Unfortunate for them, they found this to be true. Dodging left and then right as two blades narrowly missed their mark, Mikara stabbed forward. The shadows of the man's allies turned from their owners and clawed at the man, shredding him on the spot and leaving behind a ragged corpse of lacerated flesh.

Stepping into the her closest foes shadow, she emerged and immediately swiped with he blade, only to connect with her foes shield. Sparks flew from her blade and as she retracted her sword, she found her guard to be too late as that same shield came crashing into her face. Cartilage compressed and blood vessels burst, snapping the drows head backwards and sending her sliding along the floor on her back.

The rest of the group converged on the prone form of the drow, and if it hadn't been for her innate ability to surround herself in darkness, she would have been stabbed to death right then. Diving out of the cloud of darkness, Mikara turned and stabbed into the back of one of her unsuspecting enemies. Dashing behind the pillar she was initially discovered behind, she tried to split her enemies and keep the numbers she was fighting down to a manageable number. They weren't falling for it.

Moving as one, the group chased Mikara from behind her protective cover and then split up to surround her. With weapons pointed forward they inched forward, filling in the gaps as Mikara continued to attack and kill their allies. Eventually, Mikara found herself with more than a dozen swords at her throat.

"Drop the blade, elf!"

Having no option but to comply, Mikara dropped her sword.

"I don't know what you fools are up to, but you won't-" Mikara sees stars as one of the men behind her violently compresses her spine by slamming the pommel of his blade into the top of her head. The room spun and her vision went black as she was knocked unconscious.

As you descend the stone steps into the shrine, the change in atmosphere is palpable. The braziers sit cold at the entrance to a dark chamber filled with the chill of death, a strange sickly green mist clings to the floor in patches.

//Go CSI Daunton!//

* * *

Mikara slowly emerges from unconsciousness, as her first cogent thoughts take form she tries to lift her hand to feel what must be a huge lump on the back of her head, but stops short, realising that her wrists are tied, very tightly!

"Ah, she's awake m'lord... Ooo I can't wait, I is goin to be soooooo beautiful."

The woman's voice brings a rush of memories to the captured girl, she remembers the cavern, the sudden discovery, because she had let her guard down... Because the sight of that woman had made her gawp. Slowly, Mikara opened her eyes; there was no pain for the room is dimly lit. She looks up, trying to find the origin of the voice.
Standing a short distance away the young woman stands beside a short hooded figure. Although she could see nothing of the face hidden within the hood, Mikara could feel it's gaze upon her. The feeling was eerily similar to the sensation of the sinister presences she had felt within the portal.

"Who are you, and why are you in my domain?"

The voice that issues forth from the hooded figure coils itself around Mikara's mind, it is seductive and powerful, each syllable carries a thousand promises within it. This voice commands absolute compliance, she cannot help but answer truthfully...

"Defilersss" Skalisss comments, looking at the scene in the Temple. "Very well my friendsss, look for any cluesss that may have been left behind. And ssstay away from the ssstrange gasss that lingersss, there isss no telling what it isss."

Skalisss starts searching at the entrance for anything left behind, and clues, anything out of place, but sees nothing out of the ordinary.

//Go ahead and answer for Mikara, she is compelled to tell the truth, but that doesn't mean she has to refrain from asking her own questions.//

//There are plenty of different skills that could throw up information in the shrine, though you may want to provide light somehow first!//
