CR 1/8
Not ever having an account, I never used Twitter much except when I came across an embedded tweet somewhere and clicked though to read a thread, etc. I also occasionally used it as a central source of urgent notifications (eg, when we had a week-long freeze and the power and water went out, Twitter was how I kept tabs on the weather and utilities). Now, of course, non-account holders are more or less locked out of Twitter, so it's become mostly worthless to me.
I'd like to see people move to Threads just to see Twitter's toxic influence decline, and to use it similarly to how I used to be able to use Twitter (see threads, search users and topics, view profiles, etc). Unfortunately, Threads appears to be app-only (?) with no desktop version. So until I can see it on a laptop without use of an app, it's also basically useless to me, even as far as just interacting with embeds.
