Do Elves sleep now?

It seems like an oversight... Both Eladrin and Drow have the Trance rule (4h of trance instead of 6h of sleep), but Elves do not; yet they all have the same origin.

Is that an error?

I don't know about Drow, not having the Monster Manual, but the Eladrin's Trance seems to be due to their mystical links to the Feywild. Since elves are far more creatures of this world, they don't have the Trance rule, so we can assume they sleep, just as we assume for all other non-human races.

They "no longer dream of the Feywild." So yeah, they sleep.

Yeah, Eladrin seem far more attached to the Feywild than Elves; I was mostly wondering after seeing that Drow get the same rules as Eladrin...

Looks like they "split" the old Elves into Elves and Eladrin now.
