At a loss for words, not because of the present situation, but in general; Scrag drops rock, bares teeth, and bellows a guttural, possibly caterwaul, warcry as he retaliates upon the creature.

Roque swings his flail, but misses badly due to his sudden feelings of shock. Rosalia flanks the creature, giving her companions a better chance to make contact against its tough hide. John creates Benny, who plops right up and in the middle of Scrag and Roque, at the front of the dragon in order to flank it with Rosalia.

Scrag claws the dragon, his slicing claws digging deep into its side, but not slowing it down and not with enough accuracy to cause it critical damage.

Grok attacks from the side and jams his spear into the dragon's flank, causing a trickle of blood.

The dragon still cannot see too well, and retaliates against Benny who was sadly in its way.

Check for crit for that 2nd claw attack

OOC: 13+10+5=28. Benny has 1hp left. :) Party is all up and can attack. Rosalia has the dragon flanked. Dragon's AC is 20.

Benny's eyes, white with fire before the wicked onslaught of the dragon grow dim as his life is spent upon the ground, suddenly a fire is ignited in the celestial fire in his eyes and his growls suddenly become purely bestial as he becomes a whiling dervish of teeth and claws.

Engage rage as he is damaged and not killed instantly.

with rage
present hp = 7
AC14; Touch 11; Flat foot 11
Attack claw +8 melee (1d4+6)
full att claw/claw/bite melee: +8/+8/+3 (1d4+6/1d4+6/1d6+5)

rage attack: 1D20+6 = [10]+6 = 16;1D20+6 = [8]+6 = 14;1D20+3 = [9]+3 = 12

huh, should have been posted as +8 to first attacks for rolls of 18, 16, 12. If flanking is working for him then the first attack hits.

Damage: 1D4+8 = [2]+8 = 10

but alas, none of his attacks hit. poor Benny the raging augmented celestial dire badger as all of the weapons of magic touched destruction are repelled by the hardened scales of the dragon.

before rage
Attack claw +6 melee (1d4+4)
full att claw/claw/bite melee: +6/+6/+1 (1d4+4/1d4+4/1d6+3)
AC14; Touch 11; Flat foot 11
Rage (Ex)

A dire badger that takes damage in combat flies into a berserk rage on its next turn, clawing and biting madly until either it or its opponent is dead. It gains +4 Strength, +4 Constitution, and -2 AC. The creature cannot end its rage voluntarily.

edit: accentuating because it was lost in all of the rest of the text

John takes this moment to cast a spell of protection on himself [mage armor]

OOC: If he can Roque will shift to flank. If so add 2 to the attack.

Seeing Benny get mauled, Roque redoubles his efforts and swings again. "We must bring this beast down quick or we are all done for." He gives that dragon a stout bash with the Flail.

OOC: [roll0] [roll1] Rolls failed I tried to put them in the OOC and ended up in the old thread. Anyway, they are here http://www.enworld.org/forum/showth...ding-Stones)&p=6866577&viewfull=1#post6866577

In just a few brief seconds of violence, it is only Roque that makes contact with the enraged dragon, his weapon digging into the creatures side.

OOC: 14 more hit points lost to the dragon from Roque's attack. Scrag, John and Grok still up.

Scrag Dimtroll

Furious with rock, for letting him let it down, Scrag has a moment of reflection where time seems to stop. A vision recalled when rock learnt him something, something about using rocks, and words he had heard those humans say about doing things when things were to be done without knowing things were to be done before doing. Scrag got confused for a brief second, then his eyes widened with recognition. Scrag brandished his axe and attacked the Dragon, yelling... wait... {rewind}...Scrag wasn't yelling more than he was calling out the new name of his axe..."Epi'fanny!"
