Though Ripnek is muttering about how the Ogre wasn't that tough after all, Moon Moon has ideas for how to take down "just one," and Saashala is practicing the "Friends" incantation under her breath, the consensus seems to be to go around. The Ogre isn't the goal, after all.
By the time you've spent an extra hour trudging around and down the mountain, it seems like it's been more like three. A cold rain makes any activity increasingly uncomfortable, exhaustion is setting in, and you're starting to figure maybe the Ogre wouldn't have been so bad. But your glimpses of the grassy lowlands below pull you on, and the ground beneath your feet slowly changes from largely rock to all dirt. Just about the time you figure you must be nearly there, you stumble across the perfect camp site. There's a small copse of evergreens nestled into one of the last curves of the mountain, giving cover from the trail. It has steep rock at the back, with the occasional protrusion that gives some cover from the weather, and a trickle of fresh water flowing down from above.
If you'd like to take a long rest for the remainder of the daylight, what are the plans for watches?

For a long rest, you need to spend 8 hours of which any individual can stand watch for at most 2 hours. So you need at least four of you to take a watch for full coverage.
Shortly after you stop, the rain turns to snow, in case that has any impact on your plans. It is not heavy, but it is steady through the day. It makes for a cold rest.

[sblock="Ripnek"]Having lost your pack, you've lost your food as well. You can go
5 days without food before truly suffering, but it will hardly leave you feeling fighting fit. You can borrow, forage, or go without for now. If you forage during the rest (Survival DC 10), you'll have to either do it during your watch, not take a watch, or only get the benefit of a short rest. On a foraging success, you'd get 1d6+1 days worth of food.[/sblock]
