Problem I have with the summary is that it fails to provide the to hit and damage rolls for powers selected, it is just a list rather than a replacement. There's really nothing to check with it.
Yup.
That's why you have the players add certain information not found in the summary to the summary.
For example, my wife's original PC design. It literally just took me 4 minutes to add the to hit and damage info from CB to it by hand. I could have added feat and magic item info as well.

4 minutes to put this together in a form where it is mostly useable. We put together a set of instructions telling the players what to do and how to do it with an example.
There would still be a template for Hooks, Personality, etc.
Vastly superior than the current template though.
