Ok just thought about it if it perhaps that is a back asswards thought how about if using a shield you can apply it to area effects (shields work great against that fireball in the movies and similar) but to do the single attack reflection that could require two handed weapon use

with attack reflection even as a once a day option it really starts to take on some real awesome this ups its power to the two item value level, which doesn't bother me as its something I do with regular magic items too...

I am thinking to have the restrictions like when using a shield for the area effect blocking and when using weapon two handed for the reflection ...at heroic level but having them begone in the epic tier.
