I was kind of expecting all the stories this season to tie together like in season 1, so it was surprising that in the end, only Kahhori and Peggy were teamed up to fight Dark Doctor Strange.

Marvel's What If...? Season 2 almost had a dark Spider-Man story to tell.

Animation is awful especially the speaking
Just felt like a mess. Kind of like Meg 2. Let’s throw a100 things at you and your so dizzy you won’t realize how bad it can get

But isn’t it standalone? I wasn’t confused on Peggy Carter. None of the other episodes take place in the same timeline and this episode seems to have gotten a lot of attention

There is a building narrative through both seasons.
For example, the first season introduces a multiversal threat that requires the Watcher to break his oath and gather heroes to deal with. Some of season 2's metaplot deals with the fallout of season 1.
There are a few things introduced in earlier episodes that gain callbacks as well, like why Happy becomes a purple Hulk in 1602. And while not required viewing, who wouldn't want to see "Die Hard in the Avengers Tower"?
Maybe those people who hate Darcy.
