Monk Ki Strike (Lawful) - Any Use?

It's not saying much if the only thing it was good for was a prereq for a (3.0 edition?) book that is probably of limited use in most campaigns.

It ought to have a value in itself, and not just as a hook that a future thing might be 'hooked' on!

I don't know that it's of limited use in "most" campaigns - it depends heavily on the DM. It seems the more splatbooks involved, the more likely these limited scope abilities are to be used.

FWIW, ki strike (magic) is almost always redundant, since as soon as they can the player of a monk tends to get GMW, kensai levels, or an amulet of mighty fists.
