What about the War of the Worlds movie remake that starred Tom Cruise?

Never saw it.

The only Tom Cruise movies I’ve seen in their entirety are Legend and Risky Business.

Amongst the people I know in my own life, it's probably a tie between the Millenium Falcon (and TIE/X-wings) and the Challenger space shuttle as the most easily recognizable, followed by some of the Star Trek ships...
