I'm not intentionally having a summer slowdown. I'm back from my vacation & anticipate posting most days in August.

2:05:18 am. Cool, clear, partial moonlight
Orc count:
Razh: 2
Ogrin: 1
Nodis: 2
Talbin: 1


Round 2
Razh takes out the remaining orc inside the blacksmith.

They shout for the kids but hear no answer. Nodis and the woman dash into the house to search.

Talbin gets into position around the corner and draws his sling.

The orcs charge forward. One hurls his javelin at Talbin, missing.

Round 3

Razh & Ogrin emerge from the door back onto the street (using 1 move action). The closest orcs are now 45 feet away.

Nodis and the lady run around the corner into the living area. She calls shrilly for her kids, but hears nothing in reply.

Razh slips his axe into a leather loop at his hip as he walks, and then he pulls out one of the alchemist's fires given to him by Ogrin and holds it behind his back, grinning.

EDIT: Does the "draw a weapon during a move" rule apply to alchemist's fires? If so, he throws it this round.

EDIT2: Actually, Razh has his shield and axe out, so he'll sheathe the axe during his first move and draw the alchemist's fire for the second.

Talbin sees that his little plan is not going to work. He shoot at one of the orcs, retreats towards the entrance of the blacksmit's shop and draws his short sword.

ooc: attack vs orc with sling: 14, damage 2. Rolls are here

"Does your boy have a favourite hiding place?" says Nodis, hurrying so he can go back to the fight "How old is he, anyway?"

He glances back at the door and wonders why everybody is outside.

Ogrin nods at Razh. "It's getting darker... we may need some lights." He too fishes out an flask of alchemists fire. He also takes a short step back through, only his torso, head and arm peeking around the corner to get some cover against thrown javelins. He prepares to throw his flask against the first foe that comes within 20' and isn't engaged by someone else (or already burning).

Talbin lets fly a bullet, smacking the orc on his armor.

Ogrin & Razh prepare their flasks.

The orc advance again. Two close with Tablin and attack with their falchions. The halfling is fast, but can't avoid both blades. One tears painfully into his shoulder.

Nodis and the woman search around. The woman says, "There's no real hiding places here. They must have fled." She seems very relieved. We are all told to flee to the fort if we are attacked. We must see if they've made it!" She tells Nodis.

Rasereit grins as the orcs approach. He winds up a throw, hoping to hit the orc in the center of the bunch (#9, 30'-35' away), but then he sees Talbin take a wound. Rasereit yelps and throws poorly. The flask flies high into the air, falling a good 15' (or 20') short of its target. Rasereit angrily stomps forward, drawing his waraxe as he moves, heading towards Talbin. (Move 25', to the square directly north of Talbin)

Ogrin moves out of the safe confine of the doorway, placing himself 10' directly south of #4. From there, he throws his flask at #9, seeing they have bunched up so nicely. The flask cracks open on the orc's chest, setting him on fire. All the orcs around him flinch from the fiery splashes.

Smiling smugly, Ogrin then turns his attention back to the orcs closest to him, amd starts fumbling for his weapon...

OOC: 2 damage to #9, 1 damage to all the others except #4 and #6. Also, #9 continues to burn next round.

Nitpick: Talbin should probably have managed to move another 5ft towards the door

"Oh, great" says Nodis. "And these ones have no idea of tactics.", adds while looking for a way to solve the orc problem. He concentrates on the street, outside the line of sight of the orcs.

[sblock=ooc]Manifest Create sound to imitate the sound of 20 armed humans (running, shouting, weapons drawn, etc, all of which seem to be allowed by the power). The Bluff check to fool the orcs (and everyone else) is 20. If Nodis doesn't have line of sight to the south of the blacksmith shop or can't open a window to do so, instead go to the door and do nothing else.[/sblock]
