"Business! Sure, sounds good to me. Here's what we got."

Dawn took a seat, twirling it around backwards on instinct so she could straddle it and give room for her tail. "So here's what's what. Last mission me an' Alenys an' Deezy went on, we went by a town called Promise, ran into some deebs called the Cless, an' said Cless were runnin' from gargoyles - here, in North America, servin' someone called the Gargoyle King."

Letting that sink in a bit, she continued. "Options are: 1) go figure out what the Gargoyle King's up to by doin' a recon mission, 2) go talk to Promise to see if they wanna join the good Tomorrow Legion instead of those wads in the 1st Apocalyptic Cavalry, or 3) go on a cross-country trek to where the Cless came from - way out in the New West. Everything appears to be pointin' towards 1, but if you all wanna try somethin' else I'm open to hearin' about it. Gargoyles are dangerous so we might wanna head that off, but gargoyles are dangerous so that might not be a fight we wanna have, so we'll be tryin' to keep it quiet."

Squidge leaned back in her chair a little and looked at the ceiling. She covered one eye with a hand...then switched it to the other eye.

"Sounds to me like we could kill at least two birds. What's stopping us from heading out to investigate this gargoyle...and swing by Promise on the way?"

“Ooo!” Alenysturathe enthused. “Can you teach me to juggle? And now I want a taco,” she said with a pout.

The redheaded teen’s attention was diverted and her face fell at Deezy’s announcement. “Aw. I’ll miss you, Deez!” Alenys said, going over and hugging the technowizard tightly -- a bit too tightly, not aware of her own strength.

Deezy was quickly replaced by a new girl, and Alenys scowled at her, crossing her arms. “You aren’t Deezy,” she said simply, warily. And she had mispronounced her name!

Koddin left them alone to their own devices and Alenys sank into a teenage sulk as Dawn presented their options.

"Sounds to me like we could kill at least two birds. What's stopping us from heading out to investigate this gargoyle...and swing by Promise on the way?" the new girl Squidge said.

“Because we don’t know where the Gargoyle King is and we’d have to go to Merctown to pick up some rumors,” Alenys said snidely, as if it was obvious. She paused and looked at Dawn. “Um...where’s Merctown? Is Promise on the way?”

"Yeah, what Alenys said, Merctown an' Promise are in two different directions. An' while I'm not bad at talkin' I'm no diplomat, with no signin' authority, which'd take days regardless. So what do you all reckon? Gargoyle spyin', escortin' a convoy out West or guardin' a diplomat? There's bound to be shootin' regardless."

"Aright. How 'bout all y'all tell me your preferences from 'most wanna' to 'least wanna' and I'll figure it out from there? I'll break any ties if we get 'em."

OOC: It's a bit of a stretch, since Dawn probably didn't read much beyond basic parliamentary democratic systems, but Dawn is going to use ranked ballot to figure out where we go. Here's a good writeup on Wikipedia as to how it works.

Squidge shrugs. "Hey, I'm new here...but I figure out job's to help people out, right? Seems like escorting those folks is the most direct way to help. Making an agreement with that city's the next most direct. Finding and ending the gargoyle's the least direct...even if it'll probably make the biggest difference over the long term."

"Aaaaaand seems like there's a descending order of time sensitivity too. Those guys are going right now. The city could be forced to sign up with the Apocalypse guys soon. The gargoyles will be a threat eventually."

"So I vote to handle the escort first, the city second, the gargoyles last."
