Very solid season.
I did feel that the "Deep Emotional Talk" scenes in episodes 8 and 9 were too many and too long. It isn't that I don't want to see emotional drama and character development--I absolutely do!--but having everybody display their character development in the form of long monologues gets old real fast. I also think the "Hopper in Russia" storyline should have been scaled way back; much of it felt like filler.
But those are minor quibbles, which cast barely a shadow on the sight of a long-haired, leather-jacketed social outcast battling a horde of demon stirges with a homemade spear and an electric guitar, in a landscape straight out of a heavy metal album cover. This entire show is one long paean to the pop culture of my childhood.
