Kerten takes a moment to absorb the varied speech of these small folk, halflings more properly. "Beast in the wild," he almost burst out laughing when he heard that comment, he was definately not the beast in the wild here. Holding himself quite upright so as to properly present himself, he speaks, "my name is Kerten, I come in peace to this place." His speech is punctuated by a momentary pause, as if expecting this to be enough, although with the continued odd looks he continues, "I am a discoverer, an explorer of sorts. Who would you be?"

OOC: guess no one saw my, Ferrix on the move again thread. I not yet finished so my posting is sparse.

After a hard look at this newcomer after his explaination (Sense Motive!) The halfling looks to her gnomish and elven companions before replying, "I am Sherylee, Daughter of Qaletaqua. She says lowering her bow so that it points to the ground and continues, "An explorer you say? What is out here to explore Kerten?"

(( Do we know of anything in this area that is explorable? As I assume we have no clue about the ruins that Keren just transported to? ))

Sorry... I have not checked over on those boards in about a week or more myself. Good luck with moving. I know how much it sucks!

Vaanork de not like to be found in the dense jungle by anyone ad this elf was even of a strange kind. He says just one thing "Vaanork is my name stranger"
better not to say more he thinks for himself and lets Sherylee do the talking.

OOC: FYI I will have at least a 3 day weekend every weekend starting this friday and ending in Mid december. So my posting may be a bit sparse at times.

"Oh a great deal. So many things of obvious fascination this far out into the wilds," Kerten responds curious at the odd languages he's rarely ever heard. "What caused this altercation? If I might add, you seemed to have handled it well."

 

[Songdragon]

"Most, interesting." the hallfing comments and takes a brief gaze around Kerten, back into the direction that he had come from before looking up at him.

"We," motions to Vaanork, are hunting owlbear. Those gentlemen were not the best of trakers and probably scared any prey for a mile or more away. So they were asked to leave and apprently did not take kindly to being asked such."

"If you will excuse me, I have arrows to find. I shall not be far." Sherylee then motions for Shadi to follow and starts off looking for the arrows that missed their target hoping a few survived.

Vaanork goes over to the fireplace looks and smells on his cooking rabbit, takes a puch out of his belt and crumbles some salt over it.
"I guess we are leaving early tomorrow to the trade post arent we?" asking no one in spesial "we could see if we get lucky on the way, and find a damn Owlbear!" He sitts down and with his fork take of a piece of the rabbit, licking his lips. "anyne want some?"

As the group continues their discussion Groleg surges out of the bushes. "Take cover, Take cover I found one and it doesn't seems to be happy.

Behind him the group can hear the strange and distinctive growl of an owlbear. Judging from the movement of the leaves and bushes he seems quite big and moving rapidly towards them.

As Saul takes the luxury room, the lady smiles. She takes the money and give him back his key. She then says "We will bring your food in about an hours. I will ask that we prepare you a hot bath. Enjoy your stay" She finishes with a large genuine smile.

Some of the men in the room still keep an eye on him (roll spot 18)

"Frell me!" the halfling lass curses as she ducks for cover from the nearest tree. As she does, she gives Shadi the signal to guard her as she takes up an arrow from her side and notches it ready to shoot the owlbear as it appears. She manages to make a qucik glance about the area to make sure she knows where her companions are.

 

[Ferrix]

"Owlbear..." Kerten's mind sorts through the mental associations he has with that name, quickly coming to a relatively unhappy conclusion of the creatures incredibly dangerous nature. "Are you sure it's not hunting you?!" he blurts out as the female halfling makes for cover.

He manuevers to hopefully put himself as far as possible from the charging creature as quickly as possible.
