Well does acid ignor Hardness?
If so then yes. Otherwise I dont think so. Acid does dice in damage and so you would need to roll (unless its max posible is less than 10 of cource).

That would depend... :)

You would need to be concentrating all the acid's damage at a small (1hp) point - eg the acid on an arrowhead, or a single drop. This would be a small amount of acid that shouldn't do much damage. If it's very powerful (powerful enough that a bath of it would instantly dissolve the whole metal suit of armour) then, yes, it would. Personally I would think the magic acid from Melf's Acid Arrow would be about the strongest possible, so that's a guide.

NB: We're not considering the padding here, it would be several mm thick, maybe 1/4 inch.
