W2: The Search For Tomas Quinn (Rae Judging)

Rather quickly, the room empties of goblins. Pendrake is able to pull off a parting shot, and the goblin staggers as she runs, but doesn't fall (damn close, though!).

The rogues push back the goblins for a bit, and chase them down the south hallway - but not before one rogue falls to the ground, dead.

Convienently, a single red vial of liquid rolls out of his shirt sleeve. Written in red ink across the vial is the word "Fiat". What it means, is a mystery...

 

[Solange]

"C'mon, we need ta help Aikin," Solange says. "Can ya carry 'em?" she asks, directed at Pendrake and Cepheus.

When she can, Solange will grab the vial and stow it away, "We cin look at this later,"

 

[BigB]

Cepheus will attack whomever poses the best opportunity although he misses attack=6 He will then move back to help as much as he can with Aiken.

 

[Corwyn]

Before we leave and you all carry Aiken back don't forget the children in the east room

 

[Solange]

Lost in all the commotion, Solange remembers the children, and heads to check on them.

 

[Scott DeWar]

pendrake speaks up.

"Ja ,ofer mein sholder Aiken i will carry. Children you get, bita."

A very visible and audable shudder takes over the northlander as tears pour forth from his eyes and a single name is spoken

"huck, mein bruder...i am sorry"

He quickly turns to hide his emotional response to his unfortunate display of weak will to magic and he carries his comrad out.

Cepheus will recover his dropped crossbow and cautiously go to the east cavern to check on the children.

 

[Wik]

In the east room are seven children, all wearing rags. They start at the distant shouts coming from the southern hallways, as rogues and goblins cross swords. One of the children stares at a dead goblin, propped up against one wall, and cannot take his eyes off it.

They are all bound in clumsy knots, though it is not difficult even for seriously wounded Solange to untie them. the first to be untied, a young girl of perhaps eight, with the largest, brownest eyes Solange has ever seen, suddenly embraces the priestess, and starts crying into Solange's neck. The others behave much the same.

"Can we go? Please?" a little boy, maybe nine years old, asks.

pendrake suddenly remembers that he had to drop his long sword and shield to fire his bow. he will retreive all of his dropped items carefully while trying to balence aiken.

 

[Solange]

Solange steps between the child and the goblin and smiles at him, "Zephos has taken 'im in 'is care, and'll guide him to tha afterlife he deserves. Don't worry, you're safe now."

"C'mon children, let's go," says the wounded shepherd, as she guides them slowly to follow the others.
