Also; I noticed the poll (and therefore the Wikipedia page, I suppose) are missing Serpentrous, or whatever his name is; the obyrith lord from Elder Evils. I mean, technically he's dead and all, but so is Obox-ob, and so was Orcus, etc. No reason to believe he won't come back. His aspect statted up in Elder Evils is in the same CR range as the demon lords in Fiendish Codex I.

Sertrous, if you're trying to remember the name. ;) I agree, he ought to be in there, too.

Edit: BTW, the Creature Catalog now has stats for Siragle (CR 18). Ilsidahur (who'd be a good addition for the end of STAP) and Sch'theraqpasstt (thematically a lot like Sertrous, actually) are converted and should be added sometime soon, too.

No way! Obox-ob was killed, but the Queen of Chaos missed one of his aspects, and that aspect hid down in the deep until he grew back into proper demon lordliness. AKA: He got better!

Seems to be a lot of demon-worshipers around here, so question:

Where might I find the best fluff on Demogorgon, Grazz't and Orcus?

Cheers

The DoI is pretty good, as far as more recent publications go.
Failure to process DoI!

(Which book hides behind that abbreviation?)

Got it, Demon articles from Dragon.

Ack, sorry. It's a bad habit. Of course, I blame places like this. :heh:

But yeah, the Demonomicon is not bad at all.

Yeah. Missing Orcus though. Any idea where to get some good fluff on him? Not much but a few lines in FC1 and ToH1 IIRC.

Dead Gods - this is the big one.
FC1 has several pages on his layer of the Abyss.
Some other scattered material through several other 2e sourcebooks.

Yeah... had nothing changed and had I continued writing Demonomicons... I would have pushed HARD for Orcus to be the last of the "core 14 demon lords." Mostly because he DOES have the most information out there of any demon lord if you don't count the Demonomicon articles and Savage Tide Adventure Path. Just off the top of my head, there's Orcus fluff in:

The Bloodstone module series
The Ghostwalk campaign setting
MANY Necromancer games adventures
Dead Gods
Many adventures in Dungeon (my contribution was "Headless" in Dungeon 89)
Fiendish Codex I
1st Edition Monster Manual

There's more, certainly. In any event, he's certainly the demon lord who had the most coverage and attention of ALL the demon lords, and therefore in my view, needed a Demonomicon entry the least. Therefore, he was last on my list.

He's also the cover-boy for the 4E Monster Manual, but I haven't seen that yet so I've no idea what kind of info about him is in there, of course. And alas, chances are that any fluff for him won't really be compatible with the past 30 years of Orcus lore, since the flavor and texture of the planes and demons seem to be changing so drasticly in 4th edition.

Thanks for the quick response. Seems I have need to hunt for some used books if I want more fluff.

Cheers
