Ahhhh....coffee. Whats your favorite?

My brother just sent us a German coffee called Kronung. I can't understand anything else on the label. I hope it's better than the Montana brand he normally sends; that was gross.

Any coffee I can add sugar and milk to is fine by me- typical ratio is 1/3 of the cup is reserved for each ingredient.:)
...

A little coffee in your cream and sugar, ah. I think that's how most people in Utah like theirs (we don't have that many coffee drinkers).

Being a highly trained coffee professional, I have to say that the posts in this thread are absolutely PAINFUL to me, and I wish that I could prepare everyone a cup of fabulous coffee thats not instant, or preground mass marketed, or drenched in artificial flavors to cover the taste of inferior beans. To anyone who lives in the Detroit area by way of grosse pointe, I WILL prepare you such a brew, because it hurts, my friends. It hurts.

My favorite coffee, sadly discontinued, as it was a limited time offering, is my company's Ethipian Sidamo. It's a wet processed coffee, very light roast. It has a floral aroma, high notes of bergamont and a kind of herbal spiciness. Naturally sweet with a light, clean finish.

Mind you, I do still take a lot of milk and sugar in my coffee, because that's how I lke it. And if I'm out for breakfast and feel like some joe, I don't turn my nose up at the diner swill. I also greatly enjoy the sugar bomb espresso drinks. But to me, favorite coffee means favorite drip.
If you want that - drink tea, if you like bergamont I suggest Earl Grey...

A little cream, a lot of sugar and strong enough that a fist will rise up out of the freshly poured cup and punch in the face, actual variety isn't too much of wash as I appreciate most well roasted beans (which means America's favorite BURNT coffee (ie Stapukes) is right out.)

Oh and no flavors, if I want French Vanilla, I'll eat ice cream...

If I have to get up earlier than I'd like, I prefer a Cafe Americano from starbucks. I know it's overpriced, but damn if it doesn't get me up in the morning.

Anywhere else, if I haven't woken up yet, I'll just take whatever they've got, blacker than the blackest black times infinity. Some people can't stand the wooden flavor, but it clears the toothpaste/sleep/drool taste from my mouth and besides, you get used to it.

There's a local coffeehouse/roaster in Chicago called Metropolis, and I get my coffee from there. I only brew coffee on the weekends, and that's what I drink. I'll drink a Starbuck cappucino in the morning, but the Metropolis cappucinos are so much better (and 20 cents cheaper, too) that its just not funny.

It's either turkish (greek, serbian, whatever you want to call it) coffee (the most common home-brewed coffee in these parts) or espresso for me. For espresso, I usually ground the beans myself, and for turkish I use ground coffee (all local brands). No sugar, no milk in both cases (although, technically, you're supposed to have sugar in your turkish coffee... but I just ignore that bit).

If having coffee outside, it's always espresso (large macchiato -- double espresso with a splash of cold milk).

I used to live right across the street from Metropolis, it's really great.
