Dilettante + Pact Initiate

I know you can't pick the same encounter power twice, however I was wondering if you could pick a power with Dilettante and then pick the Pact Initiate (or Arcane Initiate) feat and then pick the same power again so you can use it twice per encounter.

Basically it would be for a Half-Elf Paladin of Corellon using Eyebite up to twice an encounter...

These powers don't come from his class -- one comes from race, the other from a feat.

IMHO it's legal, and it's smart: that way you gain access to Warlock implements, which will make your powers remain useful at higher levels.

PHB pg. 27 "You can take each power only once"

Yes but at no point are you picking a power... which is why I said I know you can't pick a power twice. Still I can see why it could be interpreted this way.

That's how I see it, but am not sure...

I like the idea of a wild fey worshiping paladin who says... attack me... but you can't see me...

Who cares about Half-Elves ... Multi-class a trickster Rogue into Pact Initiate and eventually at level 11 pick up Eyebite as your multi-class at-will (you will need to pick up the three power swap feats too) ...

Now you are invisible to enemies 'At-Will' .. (as long as you hit, which you should with a high CHA score and a Light blade category weapon 'Pact Blade' used as implement)

Let the Sneak attacks flow ...!

Not quite, Eyebite ends at the start of you're next turn... sorry.

Oh and in any case he would not be too bad... for two attacks per encounter he would (at 1st level):

Deal 1d6+4 damage
Give target -5 atk to hit him
Have target take 7 damage and -2 atk if they go after others

Also this can all be done from range...

Yes, you do. Dilletante says "Pick a power from a different class than your own." So, the cited rule above comes into play, and you can't have the same power twice.
