4th edition saves lives!

So a few weeks ago, I got my dad, my brother, and a couple of his friends together at my parents' house to play some Keep on the Shadowfell. I almost always play spellcasters, so I of course was playing a first-level wizard. We were halfway through an encounter with kobolds when the family cat, intrigued by the clattering of dice, attempted to climb onto the table by way of my arm, leaving me severely scratched. Everyone immediately rushed to my aid, despite my insistence that they continue without me, and I eventually made a full recovery... though I still have a three-inch scar on the back of my arm from the injury. I'm all too familiar with the stories about housecats and wizards, and I shudder to think what might've happened to me had we still been playing 3.5 at the time of the incident...

So you're saying without a second wind you wouldn't have made it, or was it the aid another rules that let your companions save you?

;)

You were really lucky, my friend, indeed. :) (But if she had bitten you instead of scratched, who knows what had happened!)

I think the real problem is your cat needs a special treat from softpaws.com.

I wonder if all 4th edition housecats now have softpaws, explaining their far less lethal nature.

You realize that you're admitting that you're just a 1st-level commoner.
