Grrr. Another "rare" Dragonborn... hat's a bit of a dissapointment.
I do however like alot of these miniatures, and am happy to see an uncommon Ogre... But as a DM is it too much to ask for an uncommon or common Dragonborn, I mean really, I feel like WotC is doing this on purpose... I just don't get why.
Well, if it's on purpose, it's easy - Dragonborn are highly desired by fans, and keeping them rare increases the incentive to buy a lot of packages.
If not, I suppose it might be because thematically speaking, Dragonborn _are_ rare - they travel alone or in pairs, and don't have any large cities anymore. They are one of the few humanoids in the MM for 4E that have high tier monster write-ups. It makes "sense" that you don't have them as common as a Bugbear or a Hogboblin Soldier (or whatever else falls under Common and Uncommon so far).
I suppose it is a little of both.
On the other hand, if they were more common, you would now here "they're forcefeeding us Dragonborn!", whereas Tieflings get some nostalgia bonus and 2E name recognition.I could buy this explanation (the second one) if Tieflings hadn't been made uncommons. IMHO, they are as rare or more rare than Dragonborn. Moreso I wish WotC would cater to the fact that the DB are a PC race now and players need minis for representation.
