PCs with too many scrolls?

what if they use something cheaper than paper? or standard paper which is 2g? I bet the elves are pissed that loggers are clear-cutting their forests for that remarkably profitable commodity.

Umm, it's magic paper. :p They could use pieces of bone or anything, but unless they go questing for the gorgon-hide (for vellum), the pieces of griffon-bone, the giant eagle quills, the magic grass (for papyrus) the rare magical unguents with which to embalm it, etc, then it doesn't work. It works the same as any other magic item cost (eg the 1,000 gp to make a +1 weapon).

bah, that's so second edition.;)

Roll up 100 8.5 x 11 pieces of paper into scroll shapes. Considering SOME care so they don't get mangled...HOW are these transported?

Bandoleers: just as rogues and fighters have bandoleers of daggers or darts, so wizards have bandoleers, one holding scroll cases, the other holding potion bottles. About a dozen of each. The scroll cases are waterproof and fire resistant, the potion bottles are Glassteel. And the wizard has a range of wands at his hip. More scrolls and potions are in the wizard's Bag of Holding or Portable Hole, and the bandoleer is replenished between fights. The player simply has a list of the 12 'ready' scrolls in front of him.

I think the majority of players who don't create scrolls just need to see them used effectively to understand what they're missing.

If you have the time and resources to sit down and craft a dozen or more utility spells that would otherwise be taking up a valuable spell slot (knock anyone?), the worth of Scribe Scroll quickly becomes self-evident.

The problem with magic item crafting is just the feats just aren't as "sexy" as feats that can be used continuously or in battle.
