Trouble with Short Rest and Healing Word

I'm a little confused about this statement. Healing Word and Inspiring Word are exactly the same, mechanically speaking. Did I miss something?

Clerics get to add their Wisdom modfier to any hit points regained from a Power that has the Healing keyword - meaning that they usually heal 3 to 5 more hit points per use of Healing word than a Warlord does with Inspiring Word.

This also really adds up over the course of a combat when multiple Healing keyword powers are used.

Son of a gnoll! Well, I suddenly feel short-changed as a Warlord. Oh, well. I can still stand on my own two feet as my party's healer. A pity there isn't even a feat for that feature for Warlords, though.

The only issue I have with it is I think it increases the disparity between a group with and without a leader. The aftercombat healing can have a remarkable effect on how many encounters a party can go through.

But I haven't had a group without a leader yet so that is just theory.

My group uses healing word after we rest, normally though we don't rest longer than 10 minutes and then hit the road again.

I don't see why a leader wouldn't help a group's daily longevity, if i may use that expression to identify how many encounters a group may handle per day. A leader's role is exactly that in 4E IMO: to lead or push the group in a given way, including how long they can fight.

To the OP: why does it bother you that a group with a healer is better at healing? Why would they not be?

We have a house rule to speed up the play. Between fights, you got to use just two healing/inspiring words, for free. That keeps the game going, doesn't overpower the cleric healing, and it takes less time(so, I spend 2 surges,*roll dice roll dice*, nice, one more *roll dice* - how much time has passed? - i can use a surge in these 10 minutes now? *roll dice* -...)

would his/her god be irked being asked for powers ever 5 min ?
(what, again ?)

On the next extended rest, the cleric (in my game) would have a nice little chat with his god...

Good RP there!

You mean that the god gets impatient of being asked for powers every 5 minutes? What happens when the cleric uses powers every six seconds during combat?
