Can You Beat "The Game"?

He misspelled "familiar" on #9. I'm stuck on the second half of that one.

Edit: Nevermind. Onto #10.

Edit2: Now onto 11 . . . or is 12?

There are quite a few misspelled words. I think it is deliberate but I haven't been able to figure out the significance of them yet.

Level 11 is a tricky one. Level 5, 11 and 17 were the 3 levels that caused me the most trouble. For level 11, read the source code for clues and think about what you did on a previous level to advance.

After someone just up and told me the answer to 11, I spent some time trying to make sense of the clues, and when I figured it out, I was impressed.

Now I'm on 12, and I get the subtlety in the image, but I don't know what's the username and what's the password. I hate having to just plug words in and hope I get the right one.

I found out the answer to level 11 whilst searching for hints online. It worked but I couldn't see how you could get that answer from the clues I had read. Strangely enough, within a minute of going back to look at the clues again I had figured out how to find the answer myself.

Whenever you are struggling, go back to the source code and page title for any clues they may provide. Finding out what varicella zoster is will also help you to find the answer to 12.

Well, I'm past 12.

Btw, I knew it involved
sitordie
but it took me forever to realize I needed to put some of it in the username and the rest in the password.

Onto 13. Or should I sleep? Hmmmm.

I actually did figure out #14 myself. After a lot of trial and error, someone told me there was a 'downloads' page, and even then I couldn't get #15 until they explained it. The step I had to go to to get the link seemed non-intuitive.

16 was easy. 17 apparently requires software I don't care to download, so I'm out.

Olaf, I kind of hate you now. :)

I'm going to bed, and will save this 'game' for the next time I want to drive a person mad.

Oh, and after spending two hours scrounging for clues online and hating people being oblique, for all of the ones I solved, if anyone wants to give up, just ask, and say, "I have given up on page #xx," and I will explain the answer in full (in sblock).

Okay Wickett, I have given up on 9, or 10, I'm not fully sure, I get to point where it asks for password, but I have no idea where to find it.

Hey, don't say I didn't warn you! :D

17 was an absolute bitch to figure out. I ended up finding the answer to that one online. I discovered I was on the right track with my thinking but what I was trying wasn't working. Even after knowing the answer, and what I had to do to get it, it still took me a fair while to find the answer for myself.

I was the exact opposite. I wanted clues on how to get to the next level but I didn't want people to tell me the answer. Level 17 and 30 were probably exceptions to this. 17 I knew I was on the right track but still couldn't get the answer. I don't think I would have been able to get Level 30 by myself. That one required quite a bit of lateral thinking to solve.

At the moment I'm on Level 28 (the real one).

Here we go. It's a toughy.

#11 shows an image of a hand with a marble on it. Then to get to #12, you have to know the username and password. It's tricky.

[sblock]http://www.thesilenceguild.com/Dom/game/aphabet/

First, check out the source code for the page. It has two messages hidden in it:

<!-- It's not your world. It's MY world-->
and
<!-- There's more here, than just this 'game'.-->

This is a clue, obliquely, that you should look for the answer outside the actual 'game' portions of the website. Basically, go back to the main page of the site (which is hard if you followed Olaf's link, because his starts you here -- http://www.thesilenceguild.com/Dom/game/ -- and you want to be here -- http://www.thesilenceguild.com/Dom/index2.html).

See the image that says "It's MY world now"? Well, sort of like how you did on stage 5, get the image location: http://www.thesilenceguild.com/Dom/yourworld.jpg

Change it to http://www.thesilenceguild.com/Dom/myworld.jpg

That gives you the username and password. You just need to click on the link at the bottom of Hello, then enter that stuff. And have fun with #12.
