I like it, very simple and elegant rules for Intellegent items that make them interesting and a help to players to have. Should be easy enough to port into previous editions and other systems.

I am definately going to make use of this article in future.

I found a mistake:

Touch Telepathy: The wielder and this item can communicate mentally. The two do not need to speak the same language to understand one another. This can let them communicate in secret, but the item should probably still have speed, too.

Those intelligent items need to take less drugs. I know an adventurers life is hard but that's no excuse! Think of the children (items)

Yeah I saw that one too... I remember thinking "hrmmm maybe it's talking about a rule not mentioend yet..." then by the end of the article I forgot about it.

That is too funny! (I wish the :rofl: smiley worked here.)

I think I might just have to do something like that ... one of my players wanted an intelligent sword in 3.5, but I told him it was too complicated. I might actually give him one now, and I'll make it talk just like that! I bet he'd love it. LOL.
 

Intelligent weapons....two memories stand out:

1. Tales of Destiny (playstation video game). 5 characters each with equally annoying talking swords.

2. 3.5e: The Cudgel that Never Forgets. "'A Cudgel that Never Forgets,' speaks little except during combat, during which it reminds you in stentorian about the transgressions of each enemy..."
