Rowan isn't very interested in mushrooms, though he's willing enough to take on the task. More importanty, his woman must be treated with respect.

"The lady asked you if you were Yuan-ti. She demanded that you tell us this before we undertake any such task."

"Also, you're saying once we bring back 10 of these mushrooms, then you're going to ask one more favor of us before telling us what we seek. What if you're unable to find out the information we want? We need something up front. And we'll need something after we get the mushrooms."

Yuan-ti I am not. Have I not given information freely? What you seek will not come easily or without risk to my position within pedestal. There are many groups within the city fighting for control. I have noted some travel to the surface and return but not yet whom is controlling this and for what reason. Let us talk more of this when you return with the mushrooms.

Muttering under his breath, Lookspring wears an irritated look upon his face at being sent off to find fungus. Although.. this flesh eating spore thing sounds interesting... if I can bottle some maybe I can sell it back in Orussus. I know a few groups that would pay for a new kind of poison... The thought of all the gold he will make puts an evil smile back on his face. Lookspring nods and says "Fine, you are saying you are not snake man, but will be helping us find them. If your information is being good then it will be making us happy. If your information is not being good we will be unhappy, and we may be making bad decisions if we are unhappy." He makes an odd digging gesture at his right eye with the stubby nail on his thumb.

 

[Phoenix8008]

"Fine, we'll go get some mushrooms for you then. Can't be any worse than our first job 'rescuing' that sailor, right Lookspring?" Phoenix jokes as she turns to get her gear and make ready to depart. "We'll be back."

Before they set out, she finds a minute or two of spare time to spend in Rowans' arms. For those moments she can be soft, she can be a woman. Because once they walk out that door she has to be hard as steel again to make it in this world. Even moreso in this underdark version of the world she's afraid.

"Off to the docks, then." Rowan says with a smile. He smiles more now than he used to. He almost doesn't want the trip to end, as being with Phoenix was making him happier than he could recall.

"Say, Es Sarch. We can't speak the language down here. It seems our gold is good, but it would help to have a guide, at least to the docks. Do you have anyone who can speak who could help us find that boat?"

Either way, Rowan is ready to go.

"Aye, I am remembering how well that 'simple' job went."

While Rowan and Phoenix disappear, Lookspring takes his time in the main room to scrutinize each race he can see. He makes mental notes of possible weaknesses and strengths. When the others are set to depart he follows them out the door to search for the docks.

"Off to the docks, then." Rowan says with a smile. He smiles more now than he used to. He almost doesn't want the trip to end, as being with Phoenix was making him happier than he could recall.

"Say, Es Sarch. We can't speak the language down here. It seems our gold is good, but it would help to have a guide, at least to the docks. Do you have anyone who can speak who could help us find that boat?"

Either way, Rowan is ready to go.

Es Sarch is silent a moment and you hear someone approach from behind. As you turn a dwarf stands with arms crossed as Es Sarch tells him to accompany you to the docks and assist with acquiring a boat. The dwarf simply nods and turns for the door when he sees the group is ready.

Rowan resists the urge to do anything theatrical. He bows slightly to Es Sarch, and follows the dwarf out of the inn. Once outside, he tries to strike up a conversation. "Greetings. My name is Rowan McTavish. Do you speak common? Have you ever been to the surface world?"
