DDI annoyance: a solution to forced/unavoidable continuing billing

Is it worth the hassle let alone the money? The decent software isn't even done yet.

If anyone wants to pay me for a random number generator and some propaganda just say the word.

I do agree that the whole digital initiative isn't living up to the promises. I was totally sold by the promises, and now, i just want to keep my books. Wizards have a long history of poor online products(magic online fumbles anyone?) and they started DDI with a huge wrong foot.

The content is good, but i think it is to few. Its all in PDF, the Compendium is far from great(I miss d20srd), the Character Visualizer and the Game Table were the big promises last year, and they are still delayed. Much like magic online 3 ¬¬

The 4th Edition? Its top quality, I'm having a blast DMing D&D again. The promised digital side(promised in the books! Look at the end of PHB)? I'll Pass. At least officially.

Has anyone sucessgully ordered this today? I get an error in the final step of the process (A very informative "ERROR_SYSTEMINTERNAL" message). The forums are down and custserv's website doesn't respond.

As a follow-up question, does anyone know who is in charge of launches for WotC's digital initiative so I can go to his house and kick him in the jigglers? Someone has no idea what they're doing and needs a wake up call.

I had that problem, but it worked for me about an hour ago just fine.

Except that though everything says I'm all registered and everything, I still can't get to any of the subscriber-only stuff.

They were doing database maintenance around 9AM Pacific - you guys probably got hit by that and they didn't have a useful error message. :(

Ideally indeed. That kind of sloppiness means that someone savvy enough to check for security, but unable to discern why there's an issue (such as me) is probably going to turn into a lost sale.

There are also clear exploits that can be made to "hack" into a site through these sorts of security errors.

If you're listening WotC, you might want to move those images.
