how many attacks can you get off with a bow in a round? just one? or is it by BAB...

how long does it take to knock an arrow?

why cant i find it in the book? lol

Also, most archers will take rapid shot which will typically allow an extra shot per round (with penalties).
That I knew about. I knew about the feat bit but i couldnt find the standard bow use rules in the book. where the hell are they for future reference?

that's why they introduced swift actions in later releases.

a lot of 'free' actions were later marked as swift or immediate actions.

only those left as free action can be used any number of times per round (or as much as a DM allows)
 

I think my rulings over the years have filtered through the Quickened [XXX] feat as a free action. No limit on the amount of free actions per round but generally only one action of a specific kind per round. After 8 years of play rulings of convenience have a ring of authority in my head.

What about using quickdraw to draw daggers as a free action so a rogue may throw multiples each turn?

I can't think of any scenario where unlimited free actions breaks the game. :erm:
