Leyra takes a moment to catch her breath, then heads down the corridor to the next door as well, pulling out her own torch to light the way.

OOC: Second Wind; Move to I17; get Everburning Torch.

[sblock]Apprecitae the enthusiasm, but you are a little early. Garrick is still up then it's my goons.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] grr so that whirling death thing is moving so slowly and we still wont be able to get in there next round yet. We cant see past it can we? Mirage wouldn't do so well against that high damage hit.[/sblock]

Garrick made as if to move further down the corridor, then suddenly whirled and loosed a shuriken at the nearby monk.

"Take that you swine. May the Lady have mercy on your worthless carcase.

[sblock=OOC]Standard action - Bluff = feint vs Insight: 14+12 = 26 vs ?: Gives CA till end of my next turn if successful. Then spend AP to attack; Sly flourish vs AC 23 (25 if Bluff succeeded) 16 damage: Roll Lookup
Roll Lookup [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Sorry about the confusion. For some reason I forgot that allies do not grant cover or concealment to enemies and I could easily have fired through Nathan.[/sblock]

[sblock=Garrick]You are the only rogue I know who doesn't gleefully roll his sneak attack damage every chance he gets...

Sneak attack (2d6=7) [/sblock]

[sblock=Mirage]The whirling blades work exactly like the barricade did as far as visibility goes: If you stand right next to hit, you can see on the other side and have superior cover from attacks coming from accross.[/sblock]

Caught by Dagran in the tunnel, the retreating monk is forced to stand and fight. His palm glows with black energy and he slams it in the dwarf's chest and he is dazed from the blow.

Gloom fist (1d20+12=30, 1d6+4=7, 1d6=2) hit, 7 hp damage, power doesn't recharge, Dagran is Dazed and gets ongoing 5.

Meanwhile, two monks pop ou from the ritual chamber two doors down on the corridor and move forward. Then with fould words of incantation, these newcomers as well as the monks in the locker room conjures shadowy tentacles in the midst of the hero. These ghastly apparition proceed to entangle its victim.

Leyra(te2);Nathan(te3);Garrick(te4) VS reflex (1d20+10=28, 1d6+3=9, 1d20+10=12, 1d6+3=6, 1d20+10=28, 1d6+3=6)

Only Nathan manages to remain free as his colelague are wrapped in shadows.

Ominously, behind the two new monks, lights are engulfed by a darkness that apprach the heroes.

To compound the situation, the whirling blades stop moving forward in a whine of grinding gears. It reverses it direction and starts moving down the corridor...

[sblock=Shadow Tentacles]The tentacles are shadow creation of the monk who conjured them, as IDed by their numbers. They can't be targeted by attacks. They only attack on their turn so they have no AoO. You can move through them, but you can't occupy the same space.

Grab refresher: You are immobilized

Escape a grab ; Move Action (Acrobatic VS 20 or Athletic VS 16) Success allows you to shift one square as well as end the grab.

Wanna help a buddy? You need a fee hand, stand adjacent, then make a STR attack VS 16. Success let you drag the target up to 3 square (1/2 you speed).

Leyra

Leyra tries to wriggle free from the shadowy tentacle, but fails. The cleric then calls upon Corellon's aid to heal her wounds.

OOC: Move: Try to escape grab (fail);
Standard: Try to escape grab (fail);
Minor: Healing Word on herself (regain 22).

[sblock=ooc]Can we attack the whirling chariot of death?[/sblock]

[sblock]Didn't gave much though to it, to be truthful! A quick glance at the DMG tells me it should have 180 hp.

Hitting it with AC is automatic
Reflex and fortitude is 12
Immune to will attack
Immune to non-area range attack.
Immune to psychic, poison, necrotic damage

So basically, it takes a while but can be done.

Still, the best thing to do would have been to take your chances like Leyra did, IMO (though of course if she is still stuck in a tentacle when the chariot reach her she might feel different...) It's was about 50/50 on getting hit and you have plenty of surge anyway. Now the chariot has reversed course so the best way to avoid any hit is to follow it and turn inside a door at the first occasion, but that's a lot of wasted rounds.

[sblock=OOC]Escaping a grab 1: can we shift to or through tentacle squares if we succeed on an escape?
2. Garrick can shift 3 squares (power). Could he escape by shifting through t23 into L13 and then attack DM3?
3. Aiding another with strength test is what kind of action - Move, standard etc?
I'm off to bed now and have some work to do tomorrow so can't post for another 12-14 hours or so[/sblock]
