I don't have a problem with casting Keanu as an alien who may not have a firm grasp on human emotion.

I have a serious problem with remaking a subtle and nuanced sci-fi classic as a big budget action blockbuster.

I think I was mentally removing my mental hand from my mental moneyclip when I saw the first ad for the film featuring the destruction of the Meadowlands arena and Keanu's "YOUR planet?" line.

I'll see this movie when they air it on late-night TV against some infomercial.

Kid - okay there was a kid in the first one but he had a smal part, this freaking kid wa sin it from start to finish. 85% of the time, kids are miss used in movies, this is one of them.

GORT - I wanted to see gaint robot rampage, get nano-bots.

Yes, that is actually pretty close. But Bugs aren't really relatable, neat little aliens. They are awful looking, slimy and slithering beasts.

From the summaries I've read of the alien's reason for appearing before humanity and the ultimate end result...These aliens seem like some of the biggest douches in the universe. Seriously. I think I'd be cheering on the military in their attempts to stop them.

Ewoks might be the wrong target, though. I think there is some hate towards them from Star Wars fans that would have preferred a more reasonable creature (Wookies?) instead of cute little aliens.

It's hard to find something cute and neat that nobody would want to kill? Maybe a race of puppies?
Or am I thinking in the wrong direction, and it should be Klingons or another warrior race that cares about honor and stuff, and is brutally backstabbed, tricked and duped?

BTW, which Hitchhiker book had the race with the starless planet? I think the planet was called Krikkit, and they were nice people, friendly to each other, enjoyed their five o'clock teas, and were hell-bent on destroying the rest of the world.
