OotS #650 is up!

Unless we rule out meta-game considerations, such as Xykon being the primary villain (or at least one of the main villains) and so on

But why on Earth would we rule those out? This may be a story about a game, and I know people like examining it from a gamist PoV, but it's still a story first and foremost. Story considerations should (and have, in the past) trumped game considerations each and every time they've come into conflict.

I just noticed the "19 minutes and 41 seconds" "and counting" part of Row 2 Panel 2.

For some reason, I though V was spliced for longer.... maybe it just seemed like it.

My prediction:

The epic teleport spell messes up, and V dosn't get to fight for a long time.

Mostly because it is the only option that hasn't been discussed yet. And also because it is potently the most funny.

Gotta say, I think V's going to lose the splices. It would definitely break too many narrative demands to destroy Xykon now, at least permanently, and V is also looking to be put back into place.

People are forgetting V's big weakness. Anything that throws V for a loop or gets him/her seriously upset can sever one of the Soul Splices.

I think V is indeed more powerful than Xykon right now... although s/he has already burned through a lot of spell slots. Even epic-level casters don't have unlimited slots. Still, V would probably win in a straight-up fight. But Xykon is really, really good at getting under people's skin.

If V loses one Splice, then it becomes two epic-level casters going at it. Xykon has won such battles before (see Dorukan). If V loses both Splices, well... splat.

This. Xykon is going to spell out just how stupid V is - just like he did to Red Cloak. I can't wait.

All I can say is that it's about time V got off schler ass and took some action. I would have preferred giving up the splice, but anything is better than just standing around like the last three panels.
