I have a friend that worked on the game, so I've played it a bit. I like it, and my wife (who generally dislikes anything that doesn't have turn-based play) loves it. Its very quirky but seems to have some strategy to it (you just can't spam a certain type of flower to always win).
That being said, I haven't gotten too deep into it yet, so things could change. However, its gotten great reviews around the net so far....

I just tried the 60-minute demo on Steam -- it's hella fun. There's enough little twists in there that keeps you glued to the screen clicking away. It requires you to be active, none of this "set it and forget it" business that other Tower Defense games are like.

Yeah I bought it. It's quite addictive, but wish the setup of the "towers"/sunflowers wasn't so slow at the beginning. It's very polished, down to the nice sound cues that Popcap utilises when you do something right.
There's a ton of mini games as well to keep you occupied. US$9.99 on Steam by the way.
