4e Book of Races? Planned? Good idea?

Does WotC plan to release any books focused on Races, or on a single race? I'm thinking of something analogous to the books like Martial Power that relate to power sources. "Dwarven Heroes" or maybe "Dwarven Options". "Racial Options", if for all races.

Whether planned or not, does it seem like a good idea?

Alternatively, would you prefer race-related books that focus on fluff instead? What I'm thinking of specifically would be a book on (say) Dwarves that describes 8 or 10 (or more) different visions of what a Dwarven society might be like. Something non-setting-specific, and either PoL or not. [Hmmm... makes me wonder about the possibility of doing an anthology of short stories about a single race -- different takes on a traditional concept...]

Or, are these ideas going too far into the realm of "splatbooks"?

(BTW, what ever happened to polls?) [edit: just noticed the poll tools -- duh I is programmer...]

Apparently, yes.

Yeah they will be 40 pages long (23 pages will be lore text), be hard-covered and cost 30$

sorry I guess Im a lil bitter
It is actually 32 pages, paperback and costs $10. We also have no clue of the content yet.
I'd like to see racial cities that can be used in campaigns, like the drow city of Menzoberranzan and the eladrin city of Mithrendain.
Well there is a Underdark book coming out. So that may hae Menzoberranzan, and if I remember correctly Mithrendain has been shown in a Dragon article already (may have been another city though, memory is faulty).

The Forgotten Realms book goes into Menzoberranzan, and I have the Mithrendain article.

I'd like to see that done with many of the races in the PHB and MM.

Just in case you do not know, Goodman Games have made Heroes Handbook : Dragonborn, which is great, with both ample amounts of crunch and fluff (IIRC it is over 100 pages).

They have similar books coming out this spring, one covering the tiefling and one covering the eladrin.

All good stuff, thanks for the info.

What I liked about the Mitherendain article was that I was that I could save the PDF, then turn it into a word document.

I used it as a setting as a 3.5E Gray Elf city, and being in Word I could make modifications at will. I also like to throw elements of my characters' backgrounds into setting development.

And I know that I will be using it as a modified prop when and if I get a 4.0E game going.

I hope the other racial source material is available as a PDF, because it would save me days of typing.

A little under a 100 pages actually, but still I found it well written.
