Fey Death and Misty Step

Dragon 373 has a feat, Fey Death:

Fey Death said:
When you reduce an enemy to 0 hit points, you can use your fey step racial power as a free action.

So if a fey pact warlock with this feat reduces a cursed enemy to 0, do they now get to teleport twice (3 squares, then 5 squares, or vice versa, for a total of 8 squares touching down once in the middle)? Or do they have to choose one of the two teleport effects to trigger?

Fey Death is an immediate reaction. Misty Step is a free action. You're limited to one immediate action per turn but since Misty Step is a free action, rather than an immediate reaction, I would say that you can do both simultaneously.

I think that you mucked up your post by tossing in Fey Step racial power, which is a move action.

No, Fey Death is not an immediate reaction. If it was, you could seldom use it, as you normally kill stuff during your own turn.

The Fey Step racial power was "tossed in" by Robert J. Schwalb who wrote the article in Dragon 373. The feat actually allows you to perform your racial power as a free action (as the quoted text said).

To the OP - I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to do both.

Sorry, CB says "immediate reaction" but Dragon 373 says "free action." I was pulling the listing from CB.

Doesn't matter what kind of action Fey Death is; Misty step is a free action.

And Fey Death isn't an Immediate Reaction. If that were the case, the feat would not work. Period.

Both are free actions; both can be used.
