Also their manifestation power doesn't seem to be all that useful, except in terms of getting out of a serious pinch.
That doesn't sound useless at all. It's great for any type of Striker, for example. Just don't be there when the defender can't care for you, or the enemy is throwing area effects around.I'm not really sure what the Voidsoul are supposed to be corrupted from. Which element they corrupt, I mean. Also their manifestation power doesn't seem to be all that useful, except in terms of getting out of a serious pinch.

Of course, Defenders might also love this power. "Hey, I mark everyone and have some magical effect independent of me that punishes you all if you don't strike me - but I am not even there".
I love how Emo is now just the catch-all criticism of everything that isn't bunnies and rainbows. Also Voidsoul Genasi has finally out-emoed the Shadar-Kai. Indeed, I mentioned the race to a friend, and his response was:

I think the article could have used a hint more feats, but otherwise is fairly evocative.
The Enemy of the Abyss's first thing - the Abyssal Blood action point adder, is really powerful! "Spend an action point and every enemy within 3 gains ongoing 5 damage (save ends), gain regen 5 until none are taking this damage". I've never seen a "Spend an action point" power of a PP be that badass.
That pings my "Cheating" radar.
Why not? "Don't hurt my friends, even if I am _not_ around. You can't escape my revenge." It just feels "cheap" because the rules suggest that it's hard to keep up Divine Challenge when you're not engaging your enemye. But Eyebite or the Voidsoul manifestation don't really break this rule for long. You cannot just run away and keep the enemy challenged. The Divine Challenge limitation is far more important for the scenario where the Paladin challenges some guy and than runs away out of his reach and stays there, keeping the guy challenged indefinitely. It's legal, along with the Paladin/Warlock "I mark you and then turn invisible" combo, but I feel that it's against the spirit of the rules, there. A paladin wouldn't CHALLENGE you and then hide.
That is true, certainly. But sometimes it might give you at least a small benefit. And sometimes it might make the same as if you were still there. If the enemy uses Close powers for example, most marks do not trigger at all if you are also caught in the powers area. This way at least you take a little less damage.Besides, except in the case of the Paladin, all you did there was just give a -2 to the guy's next attack. You can't PUNISH him with an immediate reaction power (fighter, warden), and you can't use your Aegis because you aren't there.
Rainbow Genasi will be next month.I love how Emo is now just the catch-all criticism of everything that isn't bunnies and rainbows.
