The most predictable set of polls ever!

Of course, I remember when people loved the 3E fighter. How fickle can they be.

Well, to be fair, the 3E fighter was a big improvement over the 2E one - he had all those wonderful feats that made him able to break the rules a lot. Trouble was the feats you took at level 5 were just as good as the feats you took at level 15, while the wizard got fireball at level 5 (for 5D6 damage) or horrid wilting at level 15 (for 15D6 damage with no evasion).

Now the fighter gets awesome stuff at level 15 just like everyone else, plus a great set of mechanics to help him do his job that nobody else gets.

I am happy to see both of these classes make it to the final round. but I am not going to vote this round. I have no preference one way or the other as to which wins Both have aspects that I like and dislike in equal proportions and I would play either if I were to ever play 4e..

That was my suggestion. Do this American Idol style next time.
As I recall, American Idol style tends to peter out after a few rounds. It might just have been how it was run. The advantage of the TV show is that they keep the actual votes secret. Without them being secret, you can get almost the direct order of voting after the first round.

I think you could have predicted Fighter winning this series from pretty early on.

One could mix it up a bit and allow people to vote for more than one choice. That would further emulate American Idol style. I don't know that its practical to allow people to vote more than once, as is the case on the show.

Allowing people to vote for more than one class would obscure the results in theory.
