The cool air of the night may be better for us to travel in than the heat of day...
"...if by cool you mean freeze to death, yes, you might travel the desert at night." Without waiting for another question or statement, Ladham turned over his feet and started walking as he speaks "Now follow me then, the city is just behind that hill"
The adventurers and the small group from the city walked for a few minutes until the reached the top of the hill.
Down below they behold Asamadar, the First city of the Blazing Sands. At this point everyone expected a huge capital, with tall withe walls, and pointy buildings spreading inside. Instead, the wall was low and made of some orange bricks, and the tallest of buildings was the 'palace'. With their expectations in their pockets, the group followed Ladham into the city.

OOC: Will update more tomorrow.

Without another word, Myoko followed their host and his guards. While she kept herself near Torqua, she did pause for just a moment now and again as they walked along. By the third or fourth time she made such a brief stop, the othe warriors in the group would be able to realize what she was doing- she was testing the sand and how it reacted underfoot, determining how she might have to adapt if htey were to fight in such terrain...

The group walks into the city by the well guarded front door. These men doubtlessly perform what they are paid for: Smacking lawbreakers.
Asamadar's streets are made of compacted dirt, and even at those hours of the night, the people has their small stands out, where infinite variety of items can be purchased. Some women dressed in provocative outfits lean on market's walls and other closed buildings. They shoot glances at the male members of the party.
Other women, dressed with heavy tunics also go by, paying no particular attention to anyone, save from the huge Goliath, who seems to be a strange sight in these lands.
Most men and behind a stand trying to sell their products.
In the few minutes that takes the short walk to the palace, the adventurers see the small shops closing, it's owners gathering the products, the planks and pieces of cloths, and departing, presumably to their houses.
As you reach the palace, the nearby buildings shut closed their windows and doors. The slightly cold breeze begins to grow, and the temperature to drop. In the time that took you to get up the palace stairs, the temperature dropped several degrees below zero, and the wind intensified greatly. In a question of minutes, the air is freezing.
Hasted by the sudden climatological change, the adventurers rush inside, once the heavy wooden doors are opened at Ladham command.
The elderly man smiles cheerfully. "I told you about the cold"
He leads the group from corridor to corridor, turning and turning again. After going down a stair, the brawl for hire find a massive wooden and heavily ornamented. The pair of guardsmen standing on each side gave the group a weary look. "They come to see our master Losadar" announces Ladham, and with a wave of his hand, the guards open the door.
This was the only thing the ambassador Shuman was not exagerating about. The room litteraly glittered with golden decorations. The walls are covered with all type of different tapestries, of exquisite design, and the furnitures, of a black smooth wood also shine under the orange light of the candles. There's also a strange scent in the air. The jadite is more used to the scent of sahumerio, an odours paste that burns slowly liberating a nice scent, said to have different properties, depending on the paste composition.
In the middle of the room there are several cushions, over which lies a gorgeous big (by any standard) man. He is dressing a light tunic, and wears the same turban that Shuman ad Ladham. But his feather and ornaments are more luxurious. Fancy, in the bugbear's dictionary.
With a graceful movement, the man stood up, and walked hasty towards the adventurers.
"Come in, come in please." he says smiling "Shuman has told me about you, but you seem more impressive in person I must say." he rubs his hands in expectation, as he studies each of you, as you enter the room. Ladham disappears behind the door, with a long bow.
"I'm Losador, ruler of this humble city." The man introduces himself. "I take that you have been informed on the situation in detail by Shumand and Ladham, but anything you want to know, I'm the one to ask to." he says, waiting on you.

"The honor is all ours, Lord Losador and I have to say, you have quite an amazing collection of treasures." Torqua says, slightly spellbound by the exotic decorations. "Perhaps later you might be able to tell us how you came across such beautiful items."

"But on to the task at hand, The first thing we should do is figure out who might behind this. Who might have a grudge against the city, who could have the power dry up an oasis, things like that. Then it's just a case of finding out where they are and acting on that."

"Seeing as how there's little we can do in the cold of night, I believe we should discuss this over dinner. It's been a long
journey here and we'll all think better on a full stomach." The sorceress suggests, never turning down a king's feast, even if she's yet to be offered it.

"You forgot to ask where. Can we go see where the water should be tomorrow?" While saying this Kavac sits on the floor with his back against the wall. He then adds, "This may be the wrong thing to ask but do you have any water? This is an impressive room by the way." Kavac looks around the room and thinks happily about what someone this wealthy would give away for finding their water supply.

The shifter bows at the man's entrance, clearly treating this man with deferential treatment, recognizing that one needs to treat a noble with a manner of respect. Frost steps forward and adds to the others questions, "Is there any king or tribes that have threatened you lately? Any enemies of your city? They are probably jealous of your power" the shifter says.

"To answer your questions in order: Almost every city of the Blazing Sand and no one that I have knowledge about. Most certainly my lady, the dinner is being prepared, and will soon arrive, please, find yourselves a comfortable spot. As for my collection of exotic artefacts, well I must say that this city is a window to the world, although it's poor development as a city, it's the most busy trading station I've seen. And I'm not like many of my lackeys, I've seen the world, many years ago. I usually give a walk in the morning, going from the palace to the marchant's plaza. I can purchase almost any item I desire, and from time to time, great objects travel to these lands, for reasons unknown. I collect them, and over the years, I can show you these big collection." Losadar replies, sitting on his cushions with his legs crossed.

"The water is too expensive, even for me. We have to buy water from our neighbors, and they are literally draining our arks, with their excessive prices. Although I can offer you wine and beer to apace your thirst." Asamadar ruler seems angry when speaking of his neighbors.

Frost steps forward and adds to the others questions, "Is there any king or tribes that have threatened you lately? Any enemies of your city? "The Blazing Sand has many cities, each ruled by a Sultan, like myself. In the past, there were wars against us, but now peace has flourished, at least in physical terms. We have all maintained some economical disputes. Until now, I had the odds with me, since we are the first city of the desert, and there are no other portals in the region, thus we have the highest flow of merchandises and goods for trade.
The twin cities are the next cities, and from whose oasis we are getting water at exorbitant values. They keep a regiment on their oasis, and I fear I was a fool not to do the same. In some twisted way, the costs seems to be amortizing awful well for them. Although I doubt they'll dare to brake the peace treaty, and also I don't think they have the power to drain any of the oasis. Ours was huge, although it's been years since I saw it, I'm confident that it's still the same beautiful place I saw in my youth.
I think I have a carpet with a motif that shows the cities and the Blazing dunes of the desert. Let me see..."

The sultan steps up again, and goes to the right wall, he starts searching on the hanged carpets, until he finds one in particular. He takes it out and presents it to you.

"The squares stands for the cities, we are here" he points at the first square (1) "And these are the oasis" he points the blue thingies "These are the Blazing Dunes. Don't ever travel there, if you want to stay alive" he says, seriously, pointing at the reddish areas.

Vardaal seems genuinely impressed by this city and keeps wandering towards the females in the streets, but his allies drag the bugbear along as he reaches out longingly for the women.

At the sight of the Sultan, he whistles loudly "Ok, so you ist the fanciest hat I have seen, you can be Mr. Fancy Hat now, all the others are now not so fancy. Your house is so nice, you are very lucky and nice to have us come in. Beer ist ok, not before the crushing, but tonight, it is good. I Vardaal, of Solkuth's brood, of clan Broken Tooth, I do the crushing." the bugbear declares happily, the specifics of the regional politics going right over his head.

He stares blankly until the map/carpet is shown, then says "Very pretty, it not so far. Maybe when the cold goes away we go right away?"the sound tactician that is Vardaal suggests. ;)
